I'm sure Michael had people walk him out that night...but, yeah, he might want to get a bodyguard in the near future. Anyway, I think the whole situation is sad. It appears that some people at the show didn't like him for some reason, and thus hassled him by using a touchy subject (him not having much success outside of Seinfeld) to try and upset him. In return, Michael used a sensitive subject to try and offend the hecklers. I'm not condoning what Michael did, but I think both parties are to blame here. I mean, when the heckler(s) was (were) being removed, he shouted some would-be racist terms at him as well.

I also heard today on the news he was banned from performing at that particular comedy club (I forget the name).

Laugh Factory

Michael's reportedly going to be on Letterman tonight (or rather, right now) via satellite to apologize.

Does anyone have a copy of UHF with all of Stanley's scenes cut out? I don't wanna watch it anymore if he's in it, but I still wanna see Al. :(

He made a very heartfelt and sincere apology.

That's a little bit harsh, dont'cha think? I brought the incident up on another forum, and someone made the point that we don't see exactly what provoked Richards [the reactions still way outta line though]

And why would anyone have a copy of UHF with all of his scenes cut out? There wouldn't be much movie left...

I saw the apology, too, and he really did seem to be sincere. He said he was very broken up about the whole thing. There were some people laughing while he was apologizing, and he mentioned that. They seemed to stop once he continued on. Jerry Seinfeld was on, too. I think he kinda helped to set things up so Michael could apologize. He thanked David for the opportunity, as did Michael.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I just watched the apology. Michael has a lot of personal work ahead of him. Jerry really came across as being the better man here.

Mel Gibson could use a friend like Jerry. oh right, Jerry's Jewish.
This means something. This is important.

All the heckler said was "You're not funny." That's all he said. And the fact that he CONTINUED to say that stuff, even when the audience got up to leave, was pretty disgusting, because he acted like a crazed maniac.

Shame. :(

But was anything said before the camera started rolling? Or before the start of that clip? Only the people who were there know for sure. And the guy who said "You're not funny" said that after the outburst started, I'm pretty sure
