I love the video for Gump. I liked how everyone is jumping around like nmaniacs for just about the entire length of the video. Al's one-stringed guitar and Jim's two-stringed guitbass also made me laugh. The chocolates were really finny too; I liked how that one man inhaled then near the end.
Overall, I think it's a great video.

Btw, the guy inhaling all the chocolates was none other than Pat Boone.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Do any of you own a copy of the last edition of The Billboard Book of Top 100 Singles. My local Borders used to have it but someone bought it a few years ago. I remember seeing Gump listed in there in the Top 100. It was Al's last charting song before White & Nerdy and Canadian Idiot. It was one of those songs that came out after Billboard's new chart rules. Next to Gump's charting # there was either an A next to it or an S. I can't remember. A for Airplay, S for Sales. Gump did chart on The Billboard Top 100 Singles chart, but I can't remember the number. For some reason http://www.weirdal.com has Gump listed as #102. Does anyone have the book? The position needs to be fixed on Weird Al.com

Does anybody know who played Forrest Gump in the video? I'm pretty sure it's not Tom Hanks, but I could be wrong. Anyone know?

It was Andy Comeau. He was great in 8 Heads In A Duffel Bag.

After I saw him in 8 Heads I was disappointed to find that he really isn't in any other movies. He seemed like a pretty good actor.

Gump is the only Weird Al song with a complicated story behind it's Billboard Charts position.

Gump is listed in the Billboard Bubbling Under Charts Book as reaching #102.

There is a side note by the title that says Gump made it to #71 in sales.

The Billboard Book of Top 100 Singles lists Gump in there at #71 with an "S" next to it for Sales.

Gump is the only Weird Al song that this has happenned to.

This is so weird! Gump is listed in both books. One book says it bubbled under and the other book lists it in the Top 100. Either it made it or it didn't!

When Billboard gets the airplay # of a song and the sales # of a song, do they add the two numbers together and divide by two to get The actual Billboard Top 100 Singles Chart position?

I do recall that Billboard came out with this new system just before the CD singles business was going dead. They decided to chart songs based on either A (for airplay) or S (for sales).

If a song didn't get released as a cd single but it was released to radio stations and played it could still chart. Plus, a song that did get released as a cd single could still chart in sales even if it wasn't played on any radio stations.

Gump is weird!
