Here's another brief article promoting Al's upcoming apperance in Denver:
http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,141 ... 80,00.html
It's mainly rehash of the press kit, but this is interesting -- re: Al's ideas for the Couch Potato video
QUOTE \"It was going to be a pastiche of a lot of Eminem videos. I'd be looking the way he looked in the '8 Mile' movie, but it would center around that character obsessively watching television. There'd be a lot of vignettes of various TV shows, much like he's got vignettes of various pop culture icons. It was very ambitious - a lot of costume changes and sets and prosthetic makeup involved. It would have been pretty amazing. But not to be.\"
I guess that would explain why Em's permission was more relevant.

QUOTE I really didn't feel insulted by the review; I was more astonished and fascinated by the pessimistic, cynical, non-fan perspective.
I guess we often don't realize the sacrifices demanded by the high and noble calling of being constantly cutting-edge, hip, and in-the-know (or whatever the current cutting-edge, hip and in-the-know equivalents for those terms are, since I am likely to be clueless there). It forbids you from enjoying anything that hasn't already been praised, recently, by the right kind of people.

QUOTE WAY surfing...
A picture from the Cal Poly Days. Wow, you'd never tell from pics like this what kind of stage presence Al would develop later, would you? Too bad his classmate didn't learn to spell at Cal Poly
QUOTE Is this real? Real artwork, not real biography. A work of FANtasy. (btw, I bet a real unauthorized biography of Al would be near-impossible to write... can you imagine the way all his friends would clam up?)
QUOTE Nice picture of our boy and his axe. I wonder when & why this was taken... both the goatee and the shirt suggest Al in between-projects mode, and it doesn't resemble any press-kit photo I've seen.

It's from the April 2000 issue of Disney Adventures.

My two cents: The photo itself looks to me like it's from sometime in 1998.
