I think this might be . . . my favorite original . . . ever.

Well, it's at least in my top 5.

What a gruesome thought. If Al looked at women that way, he'd have deserved to be single until his forties.

In fact, he'd deserve to be single now. :stern:

I believe he had all the rights in the world to dump the girl with Joe Dirt on DVD.

This may be a little off-topic, but yesterday Red Auerbach, the man who developed the expression CBNC, passed away from a heart attack.

I was just kidding..and so was he, I'm pretty sure.

I didn't realize how that came across...I wasn't thinking about the song's lyrics specifically, I just meant the overall concept, of being "nitpicky" about every girl until he found the right one.

:(

I apologize.

No apology necessary. But really, the attitude of the guy in the song just sucks (which is why Al is making fun of it). Anybody who treats romantic partners as disposable merchandise and tosses them for not being flawless had better be sure he (or she) is flawless himself (or herself).

I don't think that's the point he's trying to send across at all. I think the way his character is seeing it is that he's going to be spending the rest of his life with the woman he marries -- he doesn't want some enormous problem standing in the way of that. For example, I wouldn't want my future wife to worship Satan. That's a line I've definitely drawn. The humor in the song is that the character has drawn those lines in such odd places.

I dunno, Ryan. As a woman, I agree with OE. If a man decided not to date me because one of my ear lobes was slightly larger than the other, I don't think I'd like that too much. That's a pretty superficial reason. He's pointing out how ridiculously nitpicky some guys can be by being even more ridiculously nitpicky in the song. An earlobe is not going to be an enormous problem. Religious beliefs are a much bigger issue than is dealt with in the song.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!
