Someone should totally record that and stick it out on Limewire to see what the reaction's like. Arr, that t'would be some mighty fine entertainment!

A) You don't know what it's about, and even if it's about that, Al could deal with it in a way that was funny. He's done it in other songs (self service pumps, anyone?)

He's grown up and is a bit more classy than he used to be.

B) When has he never NOT been classy? Don't make me break out the Mama Bear avvie. :stern:

He's no longer a college boy, so college boy type songs are pretty redundant, not to mention unnecessary.

C) Yeah. Like AORTB, and My Bologna. Totally out of his catalog because he's moved beyond his college boy songs. Except that both are prominently featured in The Medley.
Grom wrote: For those just tuning in, all you really need to know is that you will most likely never come across a recording or live performance of this song without some kind of DeLorean fitted with a Mr. Fusion and flux capacitor.

What Grom said. If you want to discuss the song, fine. It seems kinda pointless since we have NO information, but if you want to... fine.

But any more M-discussion will go in the trash can. Because I can. So there.

nobody would care, nobody but the "hardcore" Fans would even know of the title, and they would know it's fake right away.

For the others, it wouldn't be any different than the hundreds of other "fake" songs attributed to Al.

When Al and the band were first starting out, most of their venues were 21 and up, bars and clubs and things. Most of their fan base were college kids. So it doesn't surprise me to see a few songs that would be a bit more edgy done back then.

Excuse me?

A) What are you jumping on, impaling and killing me for? If you read my posts here, I have said ASSUMING it's about... y'know, something I have to say in exams to get marks.

B) Al's classy, just that... I mean, are you trying to tell me that songs you and I don't even know exist are going to be classy? I'm sure there are some stashed away in a dark corner of his mind he'd rather not talk about because he thinks they're unclassy.

C) I don't really have much to say about this.

D) (my own) Please stop giving me public dressing downs out here. It's bad enough I was worse than nuked on other forums for daring to breathe.

What's all this talk about being classy? The cat can't do a song about having an orgy on his own but he can sing about gagging a dude and stuffing him in a plastic bag, how about strapping a girl to a chair and leaving her in the desert, constipation incest and decapitation all in the same song, Santa Claus going on a murdering spree, making fun of a dude who dies in an iron lung, sleeping with bigfoot a blow up doll and having no genitalia all in one song,

How about these songs about murder, self mutilation, and violence
Trigger Happy
One More Minute
You Don't Love Me Anymore
Christmas at Ground Zero
Happy Birthday

Or these songs packed with obvious references to sex and inuendo
Wanna B Ur Lovr
Good Enough For Now
Talk Soup
Jerry Springer

The point is Weird Al may be a classy kind person in real life, but he has made it abundantly clear through the course of his career that if something is funny, it is fair game. His material might be overall family friendly. But his job is to make people laugh, not to spread family values or morals. He does not write music for kids. A lot of his stuff is probably not suitable for young children but do to the fact that it's a song, most children won't even pay attention to stuff they don't understand. Weird Al has gone the extra mile on many occasions to get a laugh. When he writes songs he writes stuff that makes him laugh. He doesn't stray because he's afraid there will be kids in the audience. Orgy on my Own, to me, sounds like something that Al would write. Sort of like If I Could Make Love to a Bottle. Don't freak out when Al strays from food and tv. If it's funny it's fair game. It has nothing to do with being classy or not.

I'm sure that may be true. However, you didn't say his songs were unclassy. You said

He's grown up and is a bit more classy than he used to be.

You're new here, but you should know that Mama Bear (me) takes personal insults of our boy pretty personally. I don't even like it when Al talks about himself too negatively. If you want to critique his songs, fine. Be sure you clarify that's what you mean.

Also, since you're new here... you should know that Mama Bear is a bit of a standing joke, which was the spirit I meant it in.
