Whoa, before this post, this thread had 27 posts. Anyway... I love this song! As I type, I'm listening to it... I hope it get's put on the new album... But chances are, it won't... I doubt Al would publicly "release" a song when it's gonna be on an album... But who knows... Only Al. :P

What I noticed was that it now says that there are only ten songs recorded for a new album and that he will record some more. I guess that the problem the record company had was with this song, it must not have gotten permission; therefore he couldnt get any money for it and couldnt put it on an album so he just gave it away.

Yeah... but Bermuda's topic is the official topic - you can't get more official than a band member! So this is a duplicate. Now we've got two topics about the same thing. Way to go Mr. Moderator! :P

Wow! Awesome! ... um ... think of another one ...

That will definitely keep me going until we hear about the real release date. My son will freak -- maybe I'll put it on his MP3 player while he's not around.

I was finally able to download this and listen to it... at work :lookaround:

Too much fun! And Al's voice does sound great! I'm looking forward to the new album even more!

edit: I found the video of "You're Beautiful" online and now I can add: once again, Al nailed it! :D
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

If you're in the New Britain, Connecticut area around 2 PM this Sunday, you can check out the Connecticut radio world premiere of "You're Pitiful" on WFCS 107.7 FM during my radio show "Dark Side of the Highway" from 2-6 PM...

Actually, that was on the Alapalooza tour.

While this is somewhat of a good theory, I highly doubt that was the case. IF Al didn't get permission for the song he wouldn't have released it. Period. He has always respected the artist's wishes his whole career and I don't think he would start to make an execption now.

And also, IF Al had gone through all this, recorded it and everything, and didn't get permission, AND still wanted to release it he would get money for it being on the album. But, as I said, it would still cramp his "way of doing things" and so he wouldn't bother releasing the song. Good theory, but I doubt it went down like that.

You make a very good point. I still would like to think this song will be on the new cd, and whatever problem there was to lower the count from 11 to 10 didn't involve this song.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!
