After all, they toured Alaska and Canada without incident, so temperature doesn't seem to be that major of a factor.minnick27 @ May 7 2006, 04:16 PM wrote: Well there is nothing to say he wont tour in the winter.
I do wonder now if there are any tangible advantages for a performer to have a summer tour versus, to use this example, a winter tour. It does always seem as if music acts tour during the summer. Which physical conditions are better during that time? Is it to hopefully bring in more kids out of school with disposable income on hand? I wonder.

Al plays a lot of county fairs and summer festivals. Unsurprisingly, those happen in summer. Also, for an artist with as many school-age fans as Al has, it's an advantage to tour in summer, when he can schedule midweek concerts that kids can go to, and stay up for, and not have to go to school the next morning.
Whatever the hang-up is with the new album, it's a cryin' shame.

"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Not sure if this will be good news or bad news....
Cedar Fair to Buy Paramount Parks From CBS
This could potentially affect future tour itineraries, as the Paramount Parks have been very kind to Al in the last several years.
I don't know whether or not they plan on expanding their entertainment operation with this buyout, but based on the other two Cedar Fair parks in Ohio, Cedar Point and Geauga Lake, they don't normally book mainstream pop acts to perform. Knott's Berry Farm is probably a little different in that respect, though, since it's right there in Los Angeles.

Well, according to the article in The Plain Dealer today, nothing will change until at least after this season, and not much is scheduled to change after that. I believe the quote from the Cedar Fairs chairman was, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." It sounds to me like they're planning on keeping things pretty much the same.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.
