Al releasing singles of new stuff between albums.......
You know I was sitting at my computer the other night and I had my stack of Al CDs next to me and I was going through them making a Favorites CD for my trip to Chicago this coming Thursday, I picked up my Headline News Single and got to thinking, wouldn't it be a great thing if AL started releasing some singles of popular music parodies in between the long waits of new albums?? A CD with 4 or less songs on it whenever he has time or interest in a new song and then when he gets around to his new album he could have brand NEW material for that as well!!

I was going to post this over in the International Forum, but I'll do it here instead. Moderators, please move it if you think it belongs there instead.
Do you think with the Australian tour now confirmed that there may be a single and/or a video released in Australia? Here's some reasons why it may happen.
1. Australia has released Al singles before.
2. Australia has released Al singles before when the U.S. hasn't (Pretty Fly For A Rabbi).
3. I'm not sure, but Australia may not fall under Volcano's "no commercial singles" rule. (again, PFFAR)
4. There is 3 weeks off between the last date on the U.S. tour and the first date of the Australia tour. Theoretically, a video could be filmed and edited in that time.
Australians, assuming "Couch Potato" is still off limits, what song would Al release down there? I'm thiking either "Trash Day" or "A Complicated Song" but I don't know which original is more popular there. My guess is if there was a video/single, it would be of a parody.

Here's what I think:
Alapalooza was releasted in October of '93. BHD came out March of '96. Headline News came out September of '94. If Al had realeased HN on BHD, the news stories would have been to old. Al probably released it as a single so he could get it out while the stories were fresh.

Because mainly, Al wanted to have a new song to promote his box set and GH2. There was also a music video called "Al-In-The-Box" that was a medley of all of his greatest hits.
What? Wait a minute. I never heard of that "Al in the Box" video you're talking about. Where/when was this played and where can I find a copy?
