could someone please explain the whole ALbums-being-released-on-a-tuesday thing?

i've heard it around the place and it seems to be a big thing when speculating the release date of the new ALbum, but it's going straight over my head B)

In North America, all DVD's and CD's are always released on Tuesdays. It's just the way it works. It's probably just easier that way for retailers and whatnot.

I'm pretty sure that for every other country (not in North America) the album/dvd release date is Monday.

If I remember what Chuck Miller once said either on here or on the ghetto--err, I mean, newsgroup, release dates are traditionally on Tuesday because that's the first day of the week that "Billboard" starts gathering sales data for that week's chart. So, it's essentially a way to maximize chart success.

If anyone remembers Al Mart, then that's great, because when my mom, my sisters, and I went to Wal Mart tonight, the lights for the W were dead, giving it "Al Mart"! To make even better, I bought a Hawaiian shirt similar to the one from the PH insert tonight.
