but didn't PH almost miss the release date? so Al might leave a bit more time with this one

I don't know how close it actually got, but the release date was announced before the parody recording sessions had even started. I might be misremembering, but I seem to recall that Jon had to pull a "We can't get the album done on time!" April Fools gag from the site because there was a chance of that actually happening.

Granted seventeen days is just an educated guess, but let's just suppose it was instead twenty-one days, three whole weeks of actual work between the final mix and the release date. That still would probably be too close for comfort.

I really can't imagine anyone who would want to cut things that close again, unless they wanted to conduct experiments on ulcers or something.

In general, how long is the gap between recording and release? I know the gap between release and tour is relatively short...
I know! It's so silly. It's a heck of a fun time though.

I miss OC...and it's funny since I live in Nebraska.

Though, on this tour, I would really like to see Radioactive Hamsters from a Planet Nears Mars. I think that would just be fun live.

So as I was commuting into work this morning, I noticed a poster on a toll barrier announcing that the NJ PAC was going to be annoucning their summer lineup on May 2nd. I didn't catch where this announcement was going to be, but I'll try and look tonight as I go home.

Al's performed there for Poodle Hat, and though I know there is not a release date yet (beyond delayed :( ) I wonder if he'll be listed...

The NJ PAC website does not have Al listed for any of their summer concerts. Either that means he's not touring this summer(most likely, as this is one of his regular dates), that he has just not scheduled with them yet, or that he has eliminated the NJ PAC from his regular first leg stops.

By what the OC Fair people said, it sounds as though if the new-album tour gets underway this year, it won't be while their fair is running... maybe not until August or even autumn?
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.
