Well, I haven't been as fortunate as many of you. I haven't met Al..yet. I plan on trying next tour. My first and only Al show was June 30,2000 at Meadowbrook. I was in row UU. I took my son, Marshall with me. He was 10 at the time. He thought some of the fans were a litle crazy. I had a wonderful time! When Al first came out, he was wearing the most beautiful Hawaiian shirt! It was white with purple flowers. It looked like he had a wonderful aura around him, it was really something! The most memorable part of the show (for me) was when he was singing "Germs". He was on all fours, and he looked out at the audience, and it looked for all the world like he was looking at me. I'm sure he wasn't, but it seemed that way. Anyway, I was floored! I also thought it was funny when he got in this guys face during DTBS during the audeince participation section, and said: "I'm talkin' to you, buddy!" It was great! I really hope I get to meet him someday. He has brought me so much joy!

Favorite concert moments
Hi folks. I'm new to this forum and have been out of "the loop" since .... well, the last time I posted anything, it was via Deja - that should give you an idea!!
My favorite concert memory is during the last tour, when a group of us chased the bus for an entire week. One night, after a show, Luke & Steph, Steve & Niki and I drove all night to catch up with Al at an appearance the next morning at a Wal-Mart in LaPorte, Indiana. (Not the easiest place to find.) We showed up there at about 7 a.m., still in our concert clothes, staked out our places at the front of the line, and sat there for three or four hours. (Got our pictures from the night before developed at the 1-hour photo counter while we were waiting.) There was a local tv crew there, and we got our picture in the paper. Then we went to another concert that same night. It was a week of running on caffeine and adrenaline, but it was fun.

Oh man...do I have some good concert memories now! And all from the OC Fair!
Meeting Steve (and Miles) after the shows...Steve kissing my hand...
Meeting Al on Thursday...scaring Al with the fact that I came from Iowa...seeing the look on Al's face when the next five people in line were all from different states, all many many miles away...
Al throwing me the Nirvana cup during the last concert on Friday...being 'baptized' with the Nirvana water on no less than three separate occasions...
Al staring right at me, singing the best bit of Melanie...(Whaddaya mean I wasn't impressed when you tattooed my name across your forehead? That's enough to make ANY lady swoon.)
Oh, and front row seats. And who could forget the rip in Al's pants...or when Al fell off the stool...and then Al sitting on the stool upside down...
Ah, memories.

But Thursday ranks for the expression on Al's face when I told him I came from Nebraska and I got a job just to see him!
What did he say when you told him that?
I think my favorite memory is from Thursday, also, when I got a backstage pass and gave Al a shirt with accordians all over it, which was from several members of the STUPID Club. He seemed so genuinely pleased with it and thanked me profously. It was nice to be able to give him something he so obviously loved.
