Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

And as far as Al actually doing anything at the VMA, I think we all know we are playing with the idea. If Al was on the schedule, I think we would have read about it at The Mothership.

Yet. The only thing known about the VMAs so far is the host.

And keep in mind, no matter what the current "in thing" is right now (rap, mallpunk, whatever) doesn't matter. If you watched last year, remember the reaction Guns and Roses (Or as I like to call them, Axl and those other guys who aren't GnR) got. And Bruce Springsteen. And Michael Jackson ("Artist of the Millenium"!). Don't be so negative just because Al isn't dominating the charts.

Another reason why I don't see Al there is because...to be of importance to the MTV Video Music Awards, you kinda need....a video.

Again, not to be cynical (just realistic) if you compare the record sales of GNR, Springteen, and Wacko Jacko to Al, ... Well, you just can't compare them! Al may be the most successful "novelty" act ever in history, but he is still considered a novelty act by the general public, and certainly by MTV. I wouldn't be surprised to see Al someday entered into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and maybe even earning a lifetime acheivement award. But a performance on the VMAs now? I just don't think it'll happen. Unless of course, it's followed by a duet with Kurt Cobain and Tupac Shakur!
I agree completely Bruce, but a girl can dream can't she?

Huh? You're a girl? Your name is Jon! You have a blue masculine symbol thingy under your avatar! What gives! Don't tell me you're a drag queen!

It's one of those idiomatic expression joke things...

Like saying "I haven't done that since I was a little girl"

And if you compare the sales of Michael Jackson's last album to an AL ALbum.......

My guess is still yes, that he'll be there. Ratings won't be a huge factor considering all the "popular" acts who'll be there.

And if the pleasing Eminem factor was important to MTV, why'd they let Moby in last year? I can understand N Sync, Fred Durst, and Christina Aguilera, but Moby's last album did zip on MTV and the charts. That wouldn't make sense at all.

Well, Natalie Cole did a duet with her dad, so anything's possible. Digital reanimation.

Sales doesn't have to do with it. Michael Jackson is Michael Jackson.

My hope is Eminem and Al presenting an award together.
