UHF isn't on it. Either they don't classify DVDs of movies, or it just hasn't sold enough to be Gold. Interesting to note that it took Al's first album 20 years to be certified.
This means something. This is important.

I think some of those last few dates might be a bit off, as according to my notes the debut album had already gone Gold by August 2002, so it had to be around then or sometime before that.

Well i dont know about you all but i have seen UHF thousands of times so sometimes you have to do something to make your watching experience more fun so, last night i was looking for weird little mistakes or things that no body ever sees. Well i found 2 of them. The first oneis when george and terry first meet filo. When filo fisrt gives george the interoceter he is wearing gloves then next time you see him he isnt. The 2nd thing i saw is when emo phollips cuts off his thumb. If you look you can see his thumb hiding behind his hand. I'm not sure if you can see the little blood squirter thing. Have any of you ever seen antthing like that when you were watching it?
Concerts i have attended:

That's really cool how you found those, but there is a great big UHF topic right here. Perhaps one of the mods will merge this.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I saw the thumb thing, a while back. But the glove thing, I never notice that.

Well at the begining it was a fake right arm instead a fake left. Or vice versa I forgot. But it was when he whipped the guys arm off. I'm sure everyone noticed that already. :P

It helps that Al told us all about that wrong arm thing in the commentary, too. ;) I probably wouldn't have paid attention otherwise. Btw, I'm one of the fortunate folks who was at AlCon III when Al premiered the DVD. He was so excited to show us everything. It was so great! :D

On edit: I'm watching my UHF dvd, with commentary, and Tony Geary was wearing only one glove on his left hand during the interocetor scene. But, it is true that at first, he has the glove on, and suddenly, when Philo shows George how to hold the interocetor, he's not wearing it anymore. Good eye, though, crazygurl!!

The RIAA is for the recording industry, not the motion picture industry. Movies aren't classified as "gold" or "platinum". If they did, who would get the award? The producer? The director? The lead actors? What about the crew? The studio?

IIRC, there's something simliar for movie sales, but it's not "gold" and "plat", or even if it is, the quantities required are much different. The website for the MPAA (Motion Picture Assocation of America) doesn't offer any info on sales awards. It's probably just lumped into general box office sales. On IMDB, it says UHF had a budget of 5 million, and grossed 6.1 million.

Interestingly though, the RIAA did just recently include digital forms of distribution into their sales figures as mentioned here: http://www.audiorevolution.com/news/1104/4.riaa.html

As for the album "UHF", no, it hasn't gone gold or platinum, and here's a good site for official awards.
