I embarassed myself in front of Al (and Ruben) last night! I handed Ruben my shoe to sign and he goes "it's all sweaty!!!" so as soon as I saw Al, and stuffed my shoe into his hand, I didn't even say "hi," i just immediately said "itswetfromrainnotfromsweat" and then i babbled incoherently when he asked me where and how I got the shoe (which was covered in pics of him) .... *sigh* im such an idiot... but at least i got to meet al and the band (except for Jon who i saw twice but didnt get to talk to :( )!

Now that's the kind of thing we like to see around here. Utter incoherence. :D

Does this mean that you were standing somewhere wet in your stocking foot trying to say something understandable to Al?

Yep... And I was wearing my favorite socks too, which are now ruined. We waited out in the rain before the concert waiting for Al to come out. And when we saw him getting out of the bus we ran from our little rain shelter to catch him, but he had already made it inside :( Oh well...

Where did you get these shoes, and why haven't you posted a picture of them??

The shoes were a gift from my half brother, who designed them and ordered them online via something called e-shoes, and had them custom fit to my feet. I have a few pics of them, but as I am in the process of moving, my scanner is packed away. However, I'll try to find the box the scanner is in and post the pics as soon as i get to tennessee (which might not be for another month). But, when I do post the pics, what thread should I put them under? This one??

Good question. Maybe under one of the Collection threads.

I did a google search, hoping to find the e shoes thing, and found these. Not quite the same thing, but funny, nonetheless.

I tried to find the site but I couldn't. I think they may have gone out of business. Because, while its a cool idea, it seems like to much of a hassle to make custom shoes. Anyway, my half brother may have the pictures already scanned on his computer, in which case I'll have him send them to me.

QUOTE QUOTE Believe me, it wasn't something I'd have done if it was premeditated - I don't have that kind of nerve (don't let the screen name fool you!!).  I was as surprised as anyone else.

Wait... didn't you win the AlCon performance contest doing Germs?? If that WAS you, don't tell me you don't have nerve!

-Shelley :)

Well, that'd be me all right. But as I bet Al would agree, On-Stage-Nerve and In-Person-Nerve are totally different things! Back in (mumbles the year) my highschool classmates voted me Most Bashful! :dontgetit:

Not related to Al or anything regarding the topic at hand, but - Woohoo!!

(sings)

"Go, Captain, go! Go, Captain, go! Go, Captain Avatar, ahoy!!"

Sorry, I finally got my Captain Feathersword avatar (avat-ARRRR!) to show up, and I'm doing the happy dance. :onfire:

To make it more Al-related, if you mute the TV while The Wiggles are on (wait until they're dancin' up a storm) and play "Genius in France" at the same time, the results are hilarious. ("Angry White Boy Polka" works well too.) Hey, it's not like there's a "real" Poodle Hat video, so what are ya gonna do, right??

Maybe you had to be there.

Maybe you also had to be ME.

Try it anyway! :)

I don't know what the Wiggles are, but did you ever see on Kazaa a video for a song you know has no video and then you download it and for some reason someone set an anime cartoon to that song? thats a weird thing.

hey what ever happened to those other projects YankoMedia was doing?
