QUOTE You guys think I should bring my Poodle Hat cd if he does autographs or a different cd?

I have no idea. What's your favorite ALbum? Then maybe he should sign that. :)

I tend to have the oddest things for Al to sign. The only normal thing Al has signed for me was my backstage pass from OC last year.

At AlCon I'm bringing my UHF poster, because an autographed poster from UHF on my wall would kick some serious poodle.

and I got my RWS poster off EBay, but that's already framed.

When I see Al, I'm gonna go "You're Wierd All Jankovitch, right?" then pause and laugh.

My friend and I met Al in Ames, IA during the Running With Scissors tour. We drove from Kansas City to see the show and we ended up staying at the same hotel as Al and the band. We saw the tour bus as we pulled in and hoped we'd get a chance to meet him. Eventually we saw him as he was getting ready to go to soundcheck. He was in a hurry but he did take time to chat a little bit and sign a couple of things for us. He also posed for a couple of pictures. He was super cool to us and seemed touched that we drove 4 hours to see him. We also met Jim and Steve in the hotel the next day and they were cool as well. It was a great experience, one that I'll never forget!!

"Showbiz glitz marked new year celebrations in Los Angeles, where the landmark Hollywood sign was lit up in a blaze of light and colors. It was the first time the giant sign was lit up since the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics."

well, that was a GREAT new year for me.... (off-topic coming up:) I went to california to see the Badgers play in the Rose Bowl that year and i remember hearing about that and seeing it lit up! not only in colors on the 31st, but before that! strange. good trip though, for a 9 or 10 year old...

Yes, and now I'll embarrass myself in front of all of you. After what I *thought* was my last concert of the RWS tour, I was lucky enough to get to do the autograph/snap-a-quick-picture thing, which I managed to get most of the way through without doing anything embarrassing. But a veritable tidal wave of sappiness hit me as I stood up to leave, and next thing ya knew, I'd grabbed poor Al around the neck and smooched the top of his curly head. (Worse yet, an evil, quick-thinking friend preserved the moment forever on film.)

The final embarrassment? Oh yeah, more tour dates were added not long after that, and I had to face him again that summer. (Not complaining, just feeling sheepish.)

The first time I met Al, all I could come up with was "Hey, I like your socks." They were groovy rainbow-striped ones, but egad - that's the best I could do??

And it would be available for public viewing, where?
