OE, May I infer from your comments that you spent a little time with your VH1 friends? Woo Hoo! I was hoping you wouldn't have to wait, four whole days to see. Especially since you're not gonna be occupied at all in the next few days.

Yes, I saw it! The taping-Al gremlin hit again, though not in quite as big a way as before. Friend didn't know exactly how to run her own vcr, so we missed taping the first minute or so. I was amazed at how good the fit was when Al dubbed his own songs over the original artists' videos. Funny, funny stuff!

--OE, whose life at the moment is like a medley of "Living In The Fridge," "I'll Repair For You," and just a little bit of "Trash Day" :yell:

One thing I was glad to see/catch on tape during AL-TV:

A commercial for Al's performance at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ! I don't know if anyone had a similar version of this commercial for one of their local venues but the one person I talked to about it didn't, so I guess it's not a universal thing. It was a high quality commercial too, unlike some of the other local commercials that have that fuzzy looks-like-it-was-put-together-in-someone's-basement-on-a-$5-budget quality to them.

One of my fav moments of the interviews was with Celine Dion and Al kept asking stuff for the answer yes, then went, "Can I borrow 5 bucks?"

Celine: No.

I loved that.

It's great to see all of the positive feedback for AL-TV! Remember that this is only the pilot episode, but from the ratings we have been receiving thus far, I’m sure we can all expect to see more AL-TV very soon! Feel free to post more about what you would like to see on AL-TV!

sounds like real good news. Especialy if you're in the VCR industry...

I'm sorry... where was that? I just came back from a little WOWAY break.

A great ALTV, I liked the last one better, but it was shorter, but no real video!
Now I have no video at all to promote my new album!! You're happy though, right? CUZ I WANT YOU TO BE HAPPY!
But since the news came to me that AWBP is a smash hit on rock radio.... this ois true!!! 92.3 has it in heavy rotation!!
Work, is play. Tofutti break today.

You know algonacchick... I was looking at the VH1 page for ALTV the other day and there was something that referred to it as a series. I briefly wondered about that, then got caught up in the thought of an uninterrupted hour of Al that I can play whenever I need a fix...

This rekindles my hope for a video... if there are to be more ALTVs then he will need to have something else to show...

Sorry, I forgot who asked, but the "videos Al wants to see" must have been the snippets of AL and Nelly that we saw with Al's stuff over the top.

I guess I should get my tail on over to VH1 to rave madly about ALTV.

OE, I'm really glad you got to see it. I kept thinking of you while I was watching it. So every day, you'd go home and literally get in your suitcase. Literally...

Hey scottidog, it was little ole me that asked where the videos Al wanted to see were. Since I was corrected earlier and the original ALTV's were four hours long, he actually had TIME to throw in stuff he liked, such as Devo and Talking Heads. It was such a wonderful stretch of programming. Does anyone here remember the Sky-High commercials with the dude with the headband and either a blender attached to his head or something ridiculous? It was a take-off on the solar powered gadets of the 80's they used to peddle on tv. They were great...

I'm not poo-pooing what I saw last night, I think he did well with the time he had. It must be hard to fit so much creativity into maybe 40 minutes.

The best part HAD to be when Al ripped in to "Missy Misdemeanor Eliot".

What was it like when you came out of the closet???

What do you think about censorship?
