That's about right. I'll never have a birthday show unless Al starts touring in late late late fall, early winter since mine is in December.

But enough about that, I just hope for maybe more than one Nebraska show. ;)

There's usually not a birthday show for me either, Cindy, (Like I'd most likely be able to travel to it, anyway) and my birthday's in June.

It was funny, at tne New Orleans show I was joking about being the Old Lady there because everyone around me was so much younger and I was listening to Dr. Demento when he first played My Bologna and AORTB before most of them were even BORN!

:( I've got you beat. I'll be 45 in '06. ;( So I was the Old Lady there! :stern:

Its probably not as much fun by yourself.
Oh I dunno...I think I did about half the shows I hit on Touring With Scissors alone (I drove that Pontiac all over the place in 1999-2000...) and I still had fun--it was neat meeting local on line fans for dinner before the show and eventually I did make a few friendships that lasted well beyond the tour. So, I think that if you've got the time, inclination and can afford it, its definitely worth going alone and just decide you're going to have fun and a good time no matter what.

I wanted to go to the BHD Tour in San Franciso years back, but my hubby talked me out of it. He didn't want to go, and he didn't want me walking around downtown by myself late at night, and I'd get lost, I didn't know the area, and it was on a work night...etc...etc.

The next time Al came to town, I was going to a show, come >:) or high water!
I went to Sacramento by myself and had a delightful time even though I sat in the nosebleed seats and didn't know a soul. It was....an Al-phiphany (to quote LadyKatia), in a very positive way, and my already full and happy life became even fuller and happier.

To quote the old Nike ad..."Just do it".

Well, it's a different kind of fun. I've been to shows with other fans, and all by myself. Once the show starts, it's just Al and me anyhow, so that part isn't much different. And the good thing about an Al show is that it's pretty easy to talk to those around you. You already have something in common, and I find Al fans to be pretty friendly folk.

Ive been to 5 shows, and went to 3 alone, its not bad. Although it is fun seeing someones reactions to gags in the show.
