Just a quick review...

1. Couch Potato - 9.5/10 - classic.

2. Hardware Store - 8.5/10 - for what this lacks in laugh out loud lyrical content it makes up musically and subtle humor (i.e, "automatic circumsizers").

3. Trash Day - 6/10 - It just feels like something's missing.

4. Party At The Leper Colony - 7/10 - Not my favorite...

5. Angry At The White Boy - 9.5/10 - awesome, although there were one or two moments where he could've inserted some laugh out loud humor...

6. Wanna B Ur Luvr - 8.5/10 - I don't see why everyone hates this track....it does go on quite long, but is quite funny.

7. A Complicated Song - 8.5/10 - doesn't seem to have as good of a flow as it could, but still very funny and enjoyable.

8. Why Does This Always Happen To Me - 10/10 - the highlight of the album.

9. Ode To A Superhero - 9.5/10 - great follow-up track to "Why Does This Always..."

10. Bob - dead-on impression of Mr. Dylan - 9.5/10

11. E-Bay - much better than I expected, very very good. - 9.9999.../10

12. Genius In France - one punchline that seems to go on and on and on.........and on.............................and on.......and on. - 6/10

Bonus Mixes - although I was hoping for something more, the 8 tracks are good. - 8/10

Photo Gallery - great shots. - 9/10

Home Movies - I would've probably given this 10/10 hadn't I already visited the home movies discussion topic, but still very very funny. - 9.5/10

Lyrics Section - Cool. - 9.5/10

The "Easter Egg" - Awwwwwwwwwwww. - 10000000/10.

OVERALL CONCLUSION - The album was inconsistent, but nevertheless satisfying for an Al fan. 8.5/10

Poodle Hat

The "TiVo thinks I'm gay" line is also a reference to a pretty funny article in the Wall Street Journal for which somebody already posted the link elsewhere on this forum.

Is "pretty funny article in the Wall Street Journal" an oxymoron?

So far, the most people I have talked to didn't get the Scanners joke...
Scanners: It was a movie. People's heads exploded in it. Movie was dumb, but exploding heads is always a funny thing.

I hope I don't get in trouble for this, but for those of you who are interested in seeing what the exploding head in "Scanners" looked like, there's a pretty good (albiet small) .GIF of it (that's Graphics Interchange Format, not "Genius in France") at the URL below!

It's cheesy special effects, but it's still pretty gory. Don't go if you don't like that sort of thing.

Hmmm...that guy even looks like he could be a programming planner.

Someone decided to make a page detailing artists who have a few Al honors under their belt:
http://weirdal.0catch.com/txt/hattrick.html

Of all things to become a new FAQ....

What'll they think of next. Actually, I knew Dave had a list for that, but I hadn't gotten around to looking it up. I've been busy, ok? Sheesh!

Was Al referencing that in the Spy Hard opening?

Yeah, exploding heads are always funny.

In case anyone is interested: Couch Potato has 716 words. At least according to Microsoft Word it does, cuz I sure wasn't gonna count them the hard way. Not enough toes for that.

It will probably be a while before I update the other Lists on my web page, but this one was easy, and since people are asking about it, I did it now.

I believe "Poodle Hat" only adds Eminem and Beck to the list. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And I guess I should have added it earlier, but "Homer And Marge" adds John Mellencamp to the list. :)

He didn't write it, he only sang it. Does it count?

Yep. :)

He didn't write any of the polkas either, only sang them. ;)

Or GOTJ. Or MFN/BH. Or GE&H.

Oh. I forgot about those.

Or GOTJ. Or MFN/BH. Or GE&H.

Dave

I also forgot about George. But he didn't write Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies*? Or am I missing the acronym.

GE&H??? My head hurts...

Oh and a category you might add if it isn't there (I haven't looked for a while, sorry) is artists that are parodied AND appear in the parody. Mark Knopfler, and apparently Ben Folds. Anyone else?

I know, I know. I haven't been spending nearly enough time at your webpage, Dave. I'll try to do better. :dontgetit:

He wrote some of the polka parts-

Polka Party- "I like this part"

Polka your eyes out- "Drum Solo!!! WAAAAAA!!!!!"

Bohemian Polka- "No no no no, no no no no no." Extended the original

Pretty much all- "Hey!"
Work, is play. Tofutti break today.
