Welcome, Survivors, to your 4th Immunity Challenge!!!
Immunity is once again back up for grabs!
The tribe that wins this Challenge will get this avatar, which will gair-un-tee that everyone in your tribe will get to stay in the game for 3 more days. You will also be able to use this icon as your avatar until our next Challenge.
If your tribe loses, all of your members will report to TRIBAL COUNCIL [date and time to be announced at the end of the challenge], where you will have to vote out one of your tribe members.

IMMUNITY CHALLENGE #4 -- "WARP AL'S IMAGE CHALLENGE"
PLEASE READ ALL DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING!
This challenge will test your artistic and comedic skills. On the terrific website of our illustrious moderator Dave "Elvis" Rossi, there is posted an addictive little time-waster. It's found right here, and it's called "Warp Al's Image". This warp applet makes it possible to take a face and move small parts of it around to make a new and [hopefully] funnier face. Small tiny movements create small degrees of change, and large strokes wipe the image halfway to Istanbul. Anytime you don't like a change you made, just hit the "Undo" button at the top to bring it back a step. If you want to start from scratch, just hit the "Reset" button. Now let's see some examples:
Everyone starts with the same unaltered image of Al from the Bad Hair Day press pack:
Now, I've tweaked this image a few times myself. And thanks to Al's good nature, he's allowed me turn himself into several characters from the new summer movie "Shrek 2".
First, Al's imitation of Pinocchio:
Next, Al's imitation of Donkey:
Finally, my favorite, Al's impersonation of Puss In Boots:
[And please ... before anyone asks -- NO! You do NOT have to do Shrek 2 characters only! Or even have ANY theme to your picture at all! The Shrek thing was
just as an example!!
*sigh*]
It's very similar to squishing some Silly Putty on a comic strip panel and stretching every which way. There's one big difference, though -- unlike Silly Putty, you can SAVE these images!!
Most of you probably have a Screen Capture program -- a program that lets you capture whatever is on your screen and save it to your hard drive. This is useful for saving scenes from movies online, images from computer games, or error messages found on your computer to send to tech support. Use a program like this to save your favorite warped image of Al to your hard drive. You can save it in almost any graphics format, though JPG seems to work best for WOWAY's purposes.
[If you do NOT have a Screen Capture program, I highly recommend "ScreenPrint32" [for Windows98 or higher]. It's customizable, easy to use, easily uninstalled, and -- best of all -- it's FREE!! You can download it by clicking here. These two sites here and here explain what it does, answer a lot of questions, and show you that it is free for Home Users. I've had mine well over a year without a single bit of problem. And it's easy to uninstall if you don't want it after the Challenge is over.]
[Oh, and yes, I know, there are links on Dave's website that say they will explain how to save the images as well. But these are only screen save programs as well, and the links are broken anyway. So fageddaboddit.]
I recommend trying to save ANY image of the warp on your hard drive AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to test your Screen Capture program and make sure you know how to use it properly. If anyone is having problems saving an image on your hard drive, the sooner you PM me with your question, the better!
Once you've made your "warped Al image" and saved it to your hard drive, then each tribe must send me
ONLY ONE IMAGE! This will be the submission from your tribe that I will send to each of our three anonymous judges to review and vote for a winner. As with the "Weird Al Picture Caption Challenge" earlier, you may wish to make your own warped image [or two or more], then get together with your tribemates to share your creations and decide which of them you will send in. Use your WOWAY chat, your Yahoo Group, your instant messaging software, a separate website, whatever, to choose your tribe's entry. Once you have decided on an entry,
e-mail it to me as an attachment ASAP at [email protected] and give the message a title like "Squid Hat Warp Al's Image Entry" or something. I will accept only the FIRST entry from a member of your tribe as the official tribe entry, so be sure you keep your tribe's lines of communications open.
Entries MUST be submitted via e-mail attachment to me
NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, JULY 13, 2004 at 8:00 PM EST.
Yes, you have
24 hours to complete this Challenge.
I will forward your tribe's entries to our judges without any indication of whose is whose [the tribes will only be identified to the judges as Tribe A and Tribe B]. Our judges then will review your submissions that same Tuesday night and render their independent choices for best Warped Al Images overall hopefully within the following few minutes. Your Warped Al Image submissions will be judged based on creativity, originality, artistic composition, and ability to produce gut-wrenching belly laughs. The tribe which is chosen to have the best Warped Image by at least two of our three judges wins Immunity.
Any questions about the Challenge itself, please ask in this Game Play Thread. All set?
Survivors ready ... and ...
GO!!
==========================================================================
And if anyone out there who is in the "audience" or one of the "home viewers" would like to "play along at home" -- y'know, just to have fun and do a crazy little warp of Al yourself that you want to share -- just send me an e-mail with your saved Al warp attached and I'll be happy to post it and anyone else's after the conclusion of this challenge. However, of course, you must keep in mind --
YOU MAY NOT share your warp picture with any of the current Survivor players!! Also, please be aware that I must respond to all PMs from current Survivors first before anyone else's PMs, so please be patient! Thanks!!
