QUOTE I dident know where to ask this but to me the music in P@LC sounds like Bo Diddley style or is it just me. :)

I have a drum teacher who likes Al, (he's not a fan, he has no CDs, but when I come for drum lessons, I play to the songs and he enjoys them), and he told me that Party At the Leper Colony is, indeed the Bo Diddley beat.

I knew that beat sounded familar to me when I first heared it. Then I heared a Bo Diddley song and beat was similar to P@LC. :) Im wondering if Al listens to 50's music? I actually like the beat of P@LC.

What's the name of that specific Bo Diddley song that sounds like P@TLC. I like the music in that song much more than the lyrics. I wish I could hear the instrumental version. (Stupid computer!!!! :bomb: :bomb: )

Leper Colony has a Buddy Holly feel to me. It's been said on this forum that PATLC sounds similar to "Not Fade Away." I have to agree.

Since this topic hasn't been active since Aug. I thought I would give my Review. If I didn't already.

Couch Potato: Great parody. Clever lyrics. Would have been a little better with a video. <_< But still a good song. I give it a 9/10.

Hardware Store: Funny song. A great original. I like it. I give it a 9/10.

Trash Day: I love this song. Very funny. A great parody. I give it 10/10.

Party at the Leper Colony: I don't listen to this song much. Has good music. And the lyrics are funny but not a favorite of mine. I give it a 7/10.

Angry White Boy Polka: Great Polka. I love it. I give it a 10/10.

Wanna B Ur Lover: A good song. And funny lyrics. I give it a 9/10.

Complicated Song: A song that tends to get old after a while. But a good parody and funny song. Once in a while. I give it a 8/10.

Why Does This Alway Happen to Me: Goes too far. Not funny I don't care for this song at all. I give credit to it cause the music is really good. I give it a 5/10.

Ode to a Superhero: A great parody. Not that funny. But still a very good song. I give it a 10/10.

BOB: A very clever song. I like it. I give it a 9/10.

Ebay: A great parody.I like it. I give it a 10/10.

Genius In France: I love this song. The vocal range is great. Very funny. I give it a 10/10.

Extras: Love the Home movies. They're very funny. Photo Gallery has very good pics. A good reason to buy this album. And not be a HOOLIGAN. I give it a 10/10.

Inserts and Disc Art: I like all. I give it a 10/10.

This is my second favorite Al album. I give it a 9/10. Has some great songs.

A very good ALbum. Not in the same league as Even Worse or Dare To Be Stupid, but it's definitely worth owning.

1. Couch Potato - I really like this one. One of the best TV-related songs to date. It's really difficult for me to pick a favorite line, but if I had to, I would say, "Oh, and Fear Factor I watched maybe a half hour/After that, felt like I needed a long shower..." 8/10

2. Hardware Store - Not a bad original, but not as good as people here make it out to be. The really fast part is the best part by far. 7/10

3. Trash Day - The weakest parody here. I just don't find it as funny as the others. 6/10

4. Party at the Leper Colony - Lyrically it's a bit strange, but musically it's excellent. 7/10

5. Angry White Boy Polka - It has some really good moments, and some OK moments. 6.5/10

6. Wanna B Ur Lovr - Why does everyone love this song? The live/Wayne Brady performance improves it, but that's largely because it's very difficult for it to get any worse. As Simon Cowell would say, "Absolutely dreadful!" 1/10

7. A Complicated Song - Great parody. "I haven't been the same since my head and I were separated." 9/10

8. Why Does This Always Happen To Me? - Strong in just about every area. The piano playing is great, the lyrics are hilarious, and Al sings it very well. 9.5/10

9. Ode to a Superhero - Well done! The accordion solo is excellent! 9.5/10

10. Bob - Clever song, but the video was only average. 8/10

11. EBay - A tough decision, but this is the best parody on the album. Vocals and lyrics are EXCELLENT. 10/10

12. Genius in France - The best Al song in ten years. I can relate to the character well. The changing styles of music are SWEET! 11/10
