Young Dumb & Ugly

Post by Orthography Enthusiast »

I wonder whether the music reviewer for the Olympian owns a copy of Alapalooza? QUOTE ...the Canadian foursome are next in line to take over the \"young, dumb and ugly\" crown that Green Day founded and blink-182 kept shining.http://news.theolympian.com/specialsect ... 4359.shtml

And then:QUOTE

We used to get bored in our hometown, so we used to videotape ourselves driving around and terrorizing people, spraying old ladies with water guns, egging houses and breaking stuff. . .

. . . My resolution is ... to be arrested next year at some point, and I want to go f------ crazy. Just don't tell my mom. We'll keep it a secret.

My guess is, they also toilet-papered a few lawns while they were at it.

Being a parodist is a tough job to start with, but how much harder does it become when you have to keep moving to stay ahead of people so eager to parody themselves?

Nah, it's not quite that bad. The horseman of the Apocalypse you're thinking of was Pestilence, and these guys were just representing Pest. What really made me hoot was the "don't tell Mom" part.

One of the things about Alapalooza, to me at least, is that, except for "Traffic Jam," the originals are pretty weak. It's like that Mr. Monopoly sketch on SNL: it's really the same joke worded differently a lot. GiF is like this too, although I think that song is better. This song is really just "Hoodlums in France."
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!
