I also don't think it would even dawn on Kevin Smith to think up of an Al cameo. He's a little too busy spending his career trying to impress George Lucas.

Then he should definately think of Al, since Al has managed to impress George.

And without the need to direct a toy commercial. :sarcasm:

And he has been. The three Naked Guns, Spy Hard, and television's ultimate spoof of American culture in general, The Simpsons...among many others.

Yet the only recent spoof was on The Simpsons, I am just merely trying to figure out why no one has approached him for something similar as his cameos in the Naked Gun franchise. And with all the recent crap of parody movies, Kevin Smith is the only one who has shown any sign of genius with Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Just wondering why Al doesn't get any kind of offers or if he does why he hasn't taken them.

Well, we don't know that he hasn't gotten offers. But if you're talking about "parodies" like the Scary Movies, I think that's answer enough.

Maybe he has. Al has turned down advertising offers in the past....so it's not within the realm of impossibility that he could have also turned down a cameo in a movie or something.

After all, Al has a manager to help him decide what offered projects to accept. Maybe Jay doesn't want Al to become too overexposed or just relegated to cameo parts. After a while, it would come off as a bit too "B-list actory."

And if Al simply hasn't been receiving offers, well for some he's still an acquired taste.

I would love to see Al get a crack at doing another movie of his own, but at the same time I'm not unhappy with the handful of appearances he's already made.

Just a sugestion, but if Al were to make a movie today or sometime soon who or what should be involved with it?

I think that Kevin Smith (Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back) would be a great man to direct or even co-write with Al. They both share the interest of food, since Smith is not a skinny man. They both share an interest of pop culture and make many references to them in both of their respective works. Smith may be a little too vulgar, but his next movie is currently only rated PG-13 and he has written for many comics books in recent years using words suitable for kids other than the bad 5.

Just a thought, what does everyone else think?

Smith isway too vulgar. But dont get me wrong! Clerks was one of my all-time favorite movies! Behind UHF of course. KEvin and al both have diferent kinds of brilliance and it would be a bad idea to cross them over

Al actually has done a recent cameo, not as recent as his Simpsons appearance, that i'm suprised nobody has mentioned. It was on kind of a stupid Disney TV movie called Safety Patrol, that came out in about 1997-1998, I think. He sang part of Gump and maybe part of a new song(?), it's been a while since i've seen it, somebody could probably find out what songs he sang on it. I think all he did besides sing a song (or two) was just talk to the kid in the safety patrol and give him some advice about something or other. i think it might be out on video, but i can't find it at blockbuster or hollywood, so maybe someone else can shed some light on this.

Safety Patrol has actually been mentioned quite a few times on here. The song that Al sings is called "The Ballad of Kent Marlowe"

I've watched it several times (a la MST3K) on my VHS copy, he sings Gump live, they ask him to sing the song, he sings the Ballad of Kent Marlow, "Kent Marlow, you're a dirty rotten no-good scum sucking dirt-licking worthless hunk of slime!!!!" and chases his inflatable Al balloon, then the police try to calm him down. He says "They stole my balloon!!!!!" and he's half-crying, this guy comes up w/ a liitle pink balloon and says "I found it!!! Is this your balloon??" and then he punches it and says "It was big!!! Somebody shoot me." In addition to one kid's line "WEIRD AL IS GOD." because the concert is for their school district and a big event.
