I'm keeping my expectations low after hearing about this first show. For me, it's tough to follow last year's tour - the huge selection of deep cuts was so exciting. I really hope the mixing improves. The samples I heard were all drums. Not really interested in hearing the medley and DTBS again, but glad that Twine Ball is being played.
I know people here will bring out the pitchforks and torches, but I’m kinda with you, hopefully the show improves with time, but based on the description here and the clips I’ve seen of last nights show, I don’t regret choosing the KISS Farewell Tour over Al this year. I love Al, he’s the best, but this appears to be largely the same tour we’ve seen for a decade now, except with the orchestra gimmick added. The last tour was on a whole different level, but given that Al is no longer selling albums, his primary audience for these shows are the hardcore fans, and it’s probably fair to say that most of us have seen the majority of these songs performed live dozens of times already.

Personally I was hoping this tour would similar to the last except feature some deep cut parodies rather than originals. At the very least some new material would have been nice. Oh well, maybe next time.

Yeah, I'm getting the impression that this is more of a Vegas-style spectacle designed to wow the average American - opposed to something that would resonate with hardcore fans. I'm particularly disappointed that there is no polka (one small complaint I had about the Vanity Tour as well, but he played the accordion so much that it made up for it). I know I sound entitled, but just sharing my true feelings. And again, I'm keeping my expectations low because I appreciate Al trying this format, and I still hope to enjoy the show(s) I attend.

Thought I was the only one. I don't know how many times I've seen Al (been going since BHD), but this setlist honestly is a little underwhelming to me. I kind of had a tinge of regret that I bought tickets to this tour after seeing the reports above. Not saying that I won't enjoy myself, but I was really hoping for something a little more. Then again, I'm still a little salty about only seeing him once last tour since he really didn't come close to Philly, and the one show we did get had probably the worse setlist of the entire tour IMHO.
I'm hoping that if he tours again, it will be another vanity-type tour.

I have tickets to go to this show, but after reading all of your comments, I'm just gonna throw them in the trash.

I guess I'm the only one who kinda likes the setlist this tour. I feel like it's a nice mix of songs (especially the amount of originals), and I think the orchestra adds a lot to the songs. Al went out of his way to make the last tour for the hardcore fans, and this one is back to the big-production tour that should appeal to everyone (not just us).

I think this set is fine. I had a lot more personal favorites last year, but they have plenty of stuff I wanna hear this year too. With a few of the typical staples shaved off this set list (Perform This Way, Fat, Eat It, Wanna B Ur Lovr), it looks like it'll open the doors to even more diverse set lists with other songs.

I mean heck, it already has. Aside from last year, this is the biggest departure from the traditional set list we've seen in a long time. I'm very much excited to see this year's show in action, and whatever new, different stuff Al tries to keep things fresh.

The set list for the show in Ft.Lauderdale was almost the same, except for You Don't Love Me Anymore instead of One More Minute. We didn't get the boxers thrown in the audience, but I did get a small piece of the guitar that Al smashed in the end of the song! Gonna keep it and treasure it! :)

Latest poster seems to be inspired by "The Compleat Al", and a Jimi Hendrix concept Al likes to use...unless anybody else can identify a specific song (?).

Question for those who have attended shows so far: In almost every video I've seen of this tour, it seems like at least one of the backup singers is completely out of key. It seems very noticeable on video, but I was just wondering if anybody had some first hand accounts.
