Songs In New Keys

Post by ajv2001 »

Hey y'all,

This tour is by far one of my favorites, and one reason for this is because I absolutely LOVE how some songs are in different keys than their original album incarnations due to Al's voice changing over the years.
So which differently keyed songs are YOUR favorites?

I love
Don't Download This Song
I Remember Larry
When I Was Your Age
and most of all Why Does This Always Happen To Me

I still like, though not as much
If That Isn't Love
UHF

I don't like
Truck Drivin Song (i've never been too fond of this song, and the new key is just much less enjoyable for me)

What are your thoughts?
5/13/12-Waterbury, CT
10/6/13-Northampton, MA
6/6/15-Mashantucket, CT 8PM
7/30/15-Port Chester, NY
9/18/16-Waterbury, CT
9/16/17-Providence, RI [UHF]
3/2/18-Mashantucket, CT
3/4/18-Boston, MA

The obvious choice is Young, Dumb, and Ugly!

I eventually grew to like UHF more and more in a new key over the course of this tour. I loved DDTS, When I Was Your Age, I Remember Larry & Young, Dumb & Ugly in their new key from the first I heard it. I've always thought "She Never Told Me She Was A Mime" as one of Als' weakest songs of all time but maybe the fact it was in a new key helped me appreciate it.
