I like the song just fine and would probably rank it highly on my list of Al's originals, but given the possibilities for this tour it is one of the last songs I'd want to hear.

I saw him do it for the Alpocalypse tour DVD. I just can't get tired of the riff :P

Yeah, I don't hate it or anything, but it does seem strange that it's being played more than most other songs.

Am I the only one amazed that Skipper Dan hasn't made an appearance? I always got the impression that was one of Al's favorite originals....

I can actually see Skipper Dan being too difficult to pull off without the backing tracks that take up about a quarter of the song.

Phew! That concert took quite a lot out of me but I'd have to say it was by far one of the most magical moments of my life! As far as Al shares, Christmas at Ground Zero is topical again in this political climate which is why he chose to bring it back. Fun Zone seems to really get that crowd anticipation growing because Al came on stage afterwards (no vocals and all I suppose). By far though getting to see Dog Eat Dog preformed was a dream come true. In the next few days I'll find some time to post up what I caught on camera of the show. Tonight I can't since I'll be going to Steve and Jay's parallel tour! For now here's a peek at my night.

Is it just me or does it seem just a little bonkers to anyone else that we now live in a world where Al apparently finds "Christmas At Ground Zero" a safer choice to play live on stage than "Trigger Happy"?

Of course, one has to take into account that the only show he performed the former song at so far in the tour was in Canada (where the term "Ground Zero" may not carry as much historical weight).

On top of that, I'm sure Al felt it was safe enough to play on a tour where he knew he would be in a room full of his most hardcore fans who, of all people, would completely understand the real context behind and know the exact time frame on which he released it.

I mean, I know he deliberately placed the term "Ill-Advised" right there in the title but I do have to wonder if Al was planning on making "Xmas At Ground Zero" a "Canada-Only" song on this tour?

Ummmmm no. There's still 60+ dates left on this tour and he isn't even finished premiering songs. I'm sure Christmas At Ground Zero is just as likely to make another appearance as Traffic Jam is. Trigger Happy, on the other hand...... even Trey&Matt admitted that the first season episode of South Park where the kids go hunting with guns was the one early episode they never would have been able to get away with making in this day and age.

There’s a video out there of Christmas at Ground Zero if you know which tube to find it on. As a live performance I feel it’s kind of meh, just not a whole lot there musically. I think we may find with at least a few of these songs that Al has never performed live, there was probably a good reason for that.

I thought the exact opposite. I loved it as a live performance!
