Due to unforeseen delays in CID Entertainment’s manufacturing schedule, VIP wristwatches will not be available for pick-up at the first few weeks of shows. Shortly after your show, we will email you a link to an online portal where you will be able to provide your preferred shipping address. We are now anticipating the arrival of the watches in late March and will mail yours to you immediately.

As a token of our appreciation for your understanding, you will receive a tour-customized mouse pad at VIP check-in if your watch is delayed

 Do they even understand how much will it cost them to send me my watches (in case they still won't be available for pick-up on March 18th) to another part of the world? Poor guys.
But "a tour-customized mouse pad" sounds awesome! So, I'm not even sure now, if I want the shipment to be delayed or not... :P

I've never done VIP, but I'm doing it this time in Carmel, IN. Any tips for a first timer?

Another thing, I'm thinking about taking an original UHF poster (if I can locate one in good condition) to be signed. Would that be too big of an item to take?

Tips for a first timer:

Eat before you go to the VIP party as they don’t serve food and you’ll be at fhe mercy of the venue’s overpriced snack bar if they even have one. They give you a drink coupon which you can trade in for alcohol or soda.

No problem on the UHF poster, Al will sign one item of your choice. As long as you can get it there he will sign it. They also give a framed copy of the set list right before you meet Al so you can always ask him to sign that instead if you didn’t bring anything.

You get one posed picture with Al with your camera or cell phone. It can be alone or in a group but not both so decide ahead of time. Check the picture before you walk away from the table in case it’s blurry you can ask for a redo. Also make sure your flash is set to on. Auto flash never works.

You’ll also get to talk to Al during your turn. There’s no set time limit that I’m aware of but try to know what you want to say before you get there and keep it reasonable. Be mindful to the others in line and the venue staff who want to get home eventually. And Al of course who just performed for two hours and needs to meet up to 100 guests each night. In other words no life stories.

This year the only preshow activity is the Jeopardy game. You need to register for a chance to play so get there early if that interests you. Only 4 names are picked at random so odds are against you so be prepared not to play.

Take advantage of the merchandise table during the preshow party. Once the doors open the line for the table gets long fast so be done shopping early.

Have fun!

Thanks for the tips. Bummer on this one. I wanted to become Al's new best friend. People say I can be a talker but 99% sure I will mumble something incoherent and move on....assuming I don't start crying right there in front of him and my daughter.

If you've never met him before, you will probably shake a lot, most likely forget your question and freeze up. This is natural of course.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!

Seeing as I have done that with people I know but not seen in a while...I am due for a huge epic fail. :)

Yeah, I got VIP tickets to the 5/1 show in Denver (since I liked the Mandatory Czar experience so much) but since I've already met Al twice I'm actually struggling to come up with something to ask to stick to (like I had prepared to do the previous two times) but thankfully I still have two months.

Didn't think it was gonna happen but, last minute, ridiculously self indulgent, ill advised decision, me and my friend just upgraded our tickets to VIP! Gonna meet him in Cleveland on the 25th! Will be my 2nd (and a half) time meeting him :D

(Did VIP on the first leg of the MF tour, second leg I waited by the bus, and got something signed, but was told not to talk to him, but as I got my item back, I said "Thanks Al!" and he said, "Thank YOU!" so... I semi count that XD)

"but was told not to talk to him"

What's that all about?
