In other words, in two weeks, I will be planning out my entire 2018 schedule!

Re: 2018 "No Commercial Potential" Tour
Oh, my poor wallet! Oh, my poor wallet even more if there's another VIP thing / chance to meet Al again!
I'm definitely going to make every attempt to go to the concert that's closest to me. I just have to. Al saved and changed my life in July 2016, I had my life saved and changed again in 2017, and I'm hoping to attend both an Al concert and the return of the event I attended this year... in 2018.
Just... wow! I can't wait to see what's in store!
Hmm... if I miss out on VIP, do you think I could be a good enough ninja to sneak backstage somehow? Maybe they wouldn't notice a giant shrub that's moving...
I don't think I'd run into anyone from here at a nearby show, but who knows? That might be fun. You guys mean a lot to me and maybe I'd find the courage to say hello and get to thank you all for being wonderful, in person!
The greatest thing a human being can do is make another person happy. If I can ever help do that for you, just let me know!

Sooo... do we think he's already flaked on the "no commercial potential" part and it'll just be a "normal" tour, or what?

Re: 2018 "No Commercial Potential" Tour
If Al actually calls it the "No Commercial Potential Tour," I think it might be safe to assume he's sticking to his guns.

Re: 2018 "No Commercial Potential" Tour
No, it is definitely going to be a tour for the hardcore fans. Back when he did the 501st Bash, he performed just originals (minus Saga Begins, Yoda, and Acoustic Medley), and said that this was a preview of the 2018 tour. I have a feeling he is sticking to his guns, and I couldn't be more excited!!!AlejandraDD wrote:Sooo... do we think he's already flaked on the "no commercial potential" part and it'll just be a "normal" tour, or what?

Re: 2018 "No Commercial Potential" Tour
Any reason to think he's flaked?
The phrase "No Commercial Potential Tour" was coined here on the forum. He used similar wording to describe it offhandedly, never suggested that was the official name.
But all signs point toward it being a "stripped down" tour. Not "no commercial potential", just no videos and costume changes. As far as I have heard through public statements, it will be like going to see any other rock band: they will play songs from throughout the catalogue, including hits and more obscure album tracks. But the main difference is that it will just be the band playing songs, not reliant on costumes and video clips.

Re: 2018 "No Commercial Potential" Tour
There is no reason to suggest that he flaked, it was just a thought a user brought up. Also, I don't think anyone is actually thinking that the tour name will be the "No Commercial Potential" tour, it's just easier to give it a nickname for discussion. From past press releases, it sounds like this show will be mostly (if not only) original songs, no costume changes, no videos. Just look at footage from the 501st Bash. That should give you a good feel for how this tour will play outTMBJon wrote:Any reason to think he's flaked?

Re: 2018 "No Commercial Potential" Tour
I may be misremembering, but I thought Al did offhandedly refer to it as such, even if it wasn't something he initially came up with. I was trying to joke along with the theme of the upcoming tour, but I digress.
