TMBJon wrote:Did other people feel like Dare To Be Stupid was more or less not remastered, or at least barely touched? If there were any improvements, they were very minor. I couldn't tell if I was hearing something different or if it was just the fact that I've mostly been listening to an mp3 version of it for the past 15 years. However, on the other early albums, I can hear serious improvements so I am inclined to think it was something with the process. Maybe the DTBS masters did not survive as well as the other albums? Based on the videos posted showing the process of remastering they were going through, it's hard to imagine they didn't notice this too.
Back when the albums were put up on HDTracks in early 2017, people noticed that DTBS was less dynamic and had some surface noise on certain tracks. Speculation was that there was something up with the original masters, but nothing's been confirmed.

I'm savoring the set chronologically (well, I did Medium Rarities first because come on) and just got through OTDE last night--kudos to whoever decided to split YDLMA, the silence, and "Bite Me" into separate tracks. Makes ripping so much more convenient.

I noticed a strange issue in Midnight Star during the “incredible frog boy” line. Something about the panning/soundstage changes. Nothing too serious, but it wasn’t there in the original release. Still really enjoying the remasters.

Is "Bite Me" on the vinyl version or is it CD only?

Not unless it's on a hidden groove or something (unlikely). Seems like someone said it wasn't even on the CD?

While I can't say for sure about it being on the vinyl, the OTDE CD now has the ten minute silence and Bite Me as their own tracks.

So, on a podcast today, Bermuda said there's a picture or two that don't match the year they are printed in the book... First person to find one gets to drink from the fire hose?
