I dont think Al could fill a stadium. Granted his theatre shows sell out, but they are 1/50th of the size of a stadium.

I agree with Mike; I think it would be hard for Al to sell enough tickets to fill up a stadium.
I don't understand why that TMZ guy is worried about it though. Is he afraid people won't buy tickets to the Superbowl because Weird Al is the half-time show? Do people really spend all that money on Superbowl tickets just to see a 15 minute concert? Funny, I thought they were there to see the football game...

CLEARLY Weird Al could not fill a stadium. He plays small theaters and state fairs, people. The thing is... Al would not have to fill up a stadium if he is the halftime act for THE SUPER BOWL!!! Pretty sure the Super Bowl can fill a stadium without concern for who the halftime show is.

Ok, granted, the stadium would already be filled with football fans, but he did play for a pretty huge event once. But, then again, he was not the only performer there. Anyway, I think the people would love Al. He'd be an improvement over the past few half-time shows.

Al's not the one who fills the stadium. The best 2 teams in the NFL do. Al's the frosting :D

I had a friend post the TMZ clip on my facebook wall. I told her there was a petition to get Al to play the Super Bowl. Posted that link in my comments, and she went and signed! Yay!

Hmm, well, I'd like to think that a large portion of that crowd is there because their favorite team is playing, but you're probably right. It's the Super Bowl, and that's all that matters to most of the people who go. Al still gets to be the frosting, regardless of the ingredients in the Super Bowl cake, if this ever really happens.
