President is too small for Al anyway.

I always thought he'd make a great pope

That would be an unconstitutional ticket since they are both from the same state.
That's not true. The President and Vice President can be from the same state. The 12th Amendment says that electors may not vote for a President from their state and a Vice President also from their state. So electors from California would have to vote for say, Al for President and someone other random person not from California for Vice President. But electors from every other state could vote for them both, so they could still get enough votes to be President and Vice President. Though, since Al owns a house in Hawaii, he'd probably just claim Hawaii as his residence state.

Let's put it this way: it is very, very unlikely that both Al and Jon could wind up elected as president and vice-president, with a different VP likely to be chosen by electors if Al somehow became president. (This of course is ignoring all of the other political factors that would prevent a major party from ever choosing two comedy musicians as their standard bearers, to say nothing of their electoral chances in a general election.)

To address the Chicago/Hawaii suggestions, the state of origin is determined by that where they most prominently hold residence, as determined by a court. (This is why Dick Cheney, born in Texas and living in Texas as of 2000, changed his residency to Wyoming shortly before accepting a position on then-Governor Bush's ticket.)
