I don't think you can draw a line and say, "you can't be 'hard core' unless (fill in the blank)."
I think you'd know if you were hardcore.

According to Webster, "Hardcore, noun, a central or fundamental and usually enduring group or part: as a militant or fiercely loyal faction."

It could be completely dependant upon whom you've asked.
There are plenty of people that would say attending more than one Al show in one year is "hardcore".

Then again, some people didn't have a chance to go to more than one Al show. Plus, the money factor.
It just depends.
