Here's another point I'd make: the narrator in this song is clearly a huge smurf. Open the lyrics up and read them, assuming it's a person actually expressing those sentiments. The humor in the song, at least partially, is derived from what a judgmental prick the singer is. One proof of this is the fact that he starts off saying that his own life is brilliant before launching into his tirade against the subject.

UP: I think "Lame Claim to Fame" and "First World Problems" are WAY too similar. They both have speaking parts - then a chorus - then back to speaking parts. The chorus's are almost identical! It's bothered me for a while. Of the two, I much prefer FWP (I'm guessing he filmed it in his own house?)

UP: I had heard a song or two on the Mandatory Fun track list on YouTube, but never the full album, before seeing him live. I hardly listen to new music anymore, so a lot of the songs were lost on me. But, they're not written for me, and I understand he need to keep up with the times to keep up his fanbase. I do like some of them stand alone, like Handy. I guess I just don't like how new music sounds now a days and can't enjoy them as much as some older ones.

UP: Didn't care for the Santa part in the live version of Fat. It kinda took me out of the groove for the song after.

SUPER UP EDITION: I'm not sure how I feel about I Wanna B Ur Lovr. I love how it sounds, but the lyrics... It seems weird and out of place for a 'kid friendly' sort of guy? I was actually kind of embarrassed to watch him do it live. Now sure if it's a ring from Asperger's or asexuality or what, but it's just such an awkward song to me. But it sounds good if I don't think about the lyrics!

Now that's an unpopular opinion! For me "Handy" is straigh out of "I just don't like how new music sounds nowadays" category, the original is so irritating...

I was pretty indifferent toward Handy as a song but when he sings it live, he's so...slinky and adorable that it renewed an affection for the song for me. Haha.

Edit: Post #27. ;)

@Annie: And I don't want to spoil Handy, so I'm probably (hopefully) never going to search for it, haha. All I know is about the "I have 99 problems and a bitch aint one" line.
@Nurse: Again, dat tied up hair ;)

I don't think it would ruin it for you because I know it and I still love Handy, but I wouldn't recommend listening to the original anyway.
