Yes, I know You're Pitiful was not permitted to be released on the SOL cd. Yes, I know Headline News is not from Alapalooza. I just lumped it in there because it was the only new track on Greatest Hits II. I hope Headline News gets put on a remastered edition of Alapalooza in the future as a bonus track at the end. Yes, I purposely left off all the polka medleys because Al did not write any of those songs.

That's a cover, so he couldn't be nominated for writing that particular song. Seeing as it's, you know, a COVER song of the 1960's cartoon show theme song. But the other songs you mentioned are correct.

There's quite a bit of them that are basically style parodies. Dog Eat Dog would be a Talking Heads style parody, Dare to Be Stupid-Devo, Twister- Beastie Boys, Mr. Popeil- B-52s, Leper Colony- Bo Diddely, Buy Me A Condo- Bob Marley/reggae. Many more could be named.

Even as such, with them being "Style Parodies", Al does get full credit for music/lyrics for them as he did come up with the music and lyrics, even if meant to SOUND like another band, but not necessarily copying another band's music or lyrics directly.

yes but what about "albuquerque"? that is pretty much an exact copy of the rugburns' song. maybe that's an extreme style-parody case, since some would argue it is really just a parody, but there is no way al should get musical songwriting credit for "albuquerque," outside of changing the lyrics, which isn't saying much. it's a great song, but come on.

Did Weird Al write anything on Peter and the Wolf? This link doesn't really say.
