Captain Underpants (TRA LA LAAA!!!)

Post by Cameron Stitch »

In the book Adventures of Captain Underpants, it states that the two main characters (George and Harold) once rigged their school's intercom system to play nothing but "Weird Al" Yankovic music for six hours straight. Even the quotation marks were in the right place. Nice to see Dav Pilkey appreciates Al!

I wish someone would do that to my school...

I dunno whether this belongs here, but anyway...

Is this in the second book of the series?

I'm willing to go with this topic for a little while...

So what do you suppose was the setlist for this Weird Al marathon? Let's brainstorm. One obvious candidate is "One More Minute."
I'd rather clean all the bathrooms in Grand Central Station with my tongue
Than spend one more minute with you.

What other Captain-Underpants-congruent songs would you suggest?

What about "Everything You Know is Wrong"? I suggest that because of the line "I was driving down the highway with a rabid wolverine in my underwear...". It would be fitting for "Captain Underpants".
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

It's in the first one.

"You Make Me" would be a good George and Harold song- plus they're Jewish, so they might play "Rabbi".
Work, is play. Tofutti break today.

My son is just getting into the Underpants series (no pun intended -- well, maybe it was  ). I want to know which book Al is mentioned in. Not in the ones he has (1, 2 & 8) that I can see.

Captain Underpants-related songs:

"George Of The Jungle" (one of the kids is named "George"!)

"Slime Creatures From Outer Space" (the kind of fodder that the kids make their comics about)

"The Plumbing Song" (one of their villains sends evil toilets out after them)
