Suzanne would be Sam and Nina would be Nick.
Allison, Sam and Nick.
This is getting interesting.

Re: What if Al was a girl?
It does lead to an interesting discussion, but I don't think it makes that much of a difference in the end. Three of the parodies on the first album are by female artists: Toni Basil, Joan Jett, and Stevie Nicks. Maybe there were a few times when Al didn't parody something solely because the artist was female and he didn't feel his voice could do it justice, but in general Al's shown that if the idea is funny, gender doesn't matter. The second album parodies no female artists, but "Eat It" was popular because it was some geeky looking guy taking on the biggest artist ever. And some geeky looking female doing the same thing would have been just as funny, if not funnier. Besides anything lost from "Eat It" would have been more than made up by having a geeky female take on Madonna on the next album.
So yeah, if the only difference was that Al was female and she kept her talents and her life unfolded the same way, then I don't see difference. Except maybe I wouldn't have to keep explaining myself to my father-in-law why I have a guy tattooed on my ankle.

Re: What if Al was a girl?
I'm just curious if she would had the same sort of cult following back then when she was on the Doctor Demento show. Or perhaps she would have had even more?
I still think there are some songs Al's done that sound better with a mascule singer. How many songs would be chnged/different if a female sang them? Anth mentioned Melanie would be Anthony. Would Skipper Dan be Skipper Jan(e)? Would there be "new" songs , based more on female artists/bands? What songs wouldn't have "Weird Allison" done that Alfred has done??
Also. Are there any pics of that tattoo? :^)

I'll tell you one thing, I cannot stand the way he sings "Girls Just Wanna Have Lunch."BullMoose wrote:I still think there are some songs Al's done that sound better with a mascule singer.
Allison Yankovic would have done a much better job.

My Baby's In Love With Eddie Vedder would be about Allison being upset about her boyfriend stalking Alanis Morissette.

I agree, if he was, all would be lost. The world as we know it would not be possible.
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!
