My thoughts exactly. I'd prefer if it weren't a "jukebox" musical.

What would be cool? A continuation of the events of JPE. It would open with the song, and then the man decides to actually pursue the woman, setting the plot in motion. It would turn into an Albuquerque-esque journey with big UHF-style gags and be set to new original music by Al!

OR...

...something else. :P

If Al doesn't come up with this first, WE should! That's why I started the "Tao of Al" thread :) I saw "Movin' Out" about 6 years ago when it came to Philly, and while the band (fronted by a character named "Piano Man") and dancers/light effects were incredible (I especially loved what they did for "Pressure," if you're familiar with Billy Joel's music), the plot was rather difficult to follow.

As I recall, Al himself said in a Q&A event that he was in talks with Matt & Trey (creators of South Park and the Book of Mormon) to work on this alleged Broadway musical. If so, we can all rest assured that it would definitely not be a jukebox show consisting of existing Weird Al songs, but a wholly original new comedy musical project.
Huge caveat on this is that he said this a few years ago and there has not been one word of follow-up since, nor confirmation from any outside source. BUT, as has been said on this thread, Al is not the type to brag about potential projects unless they're very likely to happen...

Man I would die to see him do anything with Matt & Trey. Would rather a movie than a Broadway musical but the pairing of these guys and Al would be amazingly hilarious no matter what they came up with. Let's hope for the best!

I remember reading a while ago that Al was once in talks to write the songs for a Broadway musical adaptation of "Airplane!" until he ran into David Zucker on the street and learned that he was against a stage/musical adaptation and thought "Airplane!" should only exist as a film. Al slowly backed off of the project soon after that.

As of yet, it is not.

Y'know, there could always be a fan made Al musical, akin to "A Very Potter Musical" created by theatrically/musically inclined college students who happened to be fans of Harry Potter :)

Y'know, that's not such a bad idea. |)
Now we just have to find theatrically/musically inclined Weird Al fans!

I dunno; I can play the CLAP real good. I can even clap with one hand, should I ever injure either of them.
