I personally think Al-oholics is the best choice.

I'm gonna stick with Yanksters and Yankochicks!
I'd prefer not to associate this fandom with alcoholism, a touchy subject for many.
I couldn't tell a dirt clod from a plate of caviar.

That's very understandable. Plus "Yanksters" & "Yankochicks" do sound pretty catchy :)

Yeah, that bugged me about the whole "al-oholics" thing, too.

I personally prefer "Yankmeisters", but to each their own. I also see some huge potential in "Alanators".

Honestly i only said Aloholic because its a term that I know has been around for at least 15 years and I've even heard non forum people use it. Personally I just always say Al fan, pretty much sums it up
