I grew up in upstate, NY and Only moved away a few months before the attacks. It hurts knowing that sombody would do that to the state I had always called home. New Yorkers are tough. We hide our emotions most of the time. But that was one day that I just couldn't. My boss recently told me that the look I got on my face after he told us all what had happened "sared me to death." 1 second fear, 1 second uncertainty. And then...Wanting to make them pay for the death and destruction they'd caused.
As I get ready to return to NY (this time for good) I'm still at a loss for words over what happened. The lives that were stupidly destroyed, the cost of the cleanup, and the lives that may still end prematurely due to this sadistic act. (I'm no doctor, but breathing in all that dust just can't be a good thing for you...)
Personaly, I'll never forget what happened that day. How could I? All of my family and friends are safe, but I get a lump in my throat just thinking about the people who's friends or family were touched that day. I still pray every night that they find peace 'cuz I know I'm personaly still looking...
