Drove out early to play at the casino. I lost $50 on the OMG Kittens slot machine, but won $150 on the Elton John slot machine, so I was $100 ahead at the end playing. Paid for a ticket basically! And now I really like Elton John. (Don't worry, I still like kittens!
) Met Bob and went to the VIP party. I guess people were more interested in gambling because it was pretty empty. I made an awesome foil hat but wanted to get some REAL FOOD so we left to do that. Ran into Bermuda at the food court and almost convinced him to buy a hot dog. Went back to the VIP party and I missed the foil hat contest.
Before the costume contest, JW called for Brian to come to the podium. Brian had an announcement. Brian also had a girlfriend of 9 years who was at the party. Brian proposed to Stephanie. Stephanie said yes! Brian and Stephanie danced to ITIL.
Smallest group of people for the costume contest, only 3 entries, but they all were really good with the lip sync. Hawaiian shirt guy did OMM. Fat girl who wasn't fat did "Fat" and mom and her two adorable daughters did WSD. They were the only ones dressed. They had mayo, viking helmets, boots, and toy weasels that moved and everything. I probably could have won if I entered, but I would have felt horrible for taking the prize away from the adorable kids. WSD won by a landslide.
JW stomped a weasel and it broke.
We then went to the concert. I bought a Coke at the bar and the guy gave me one of those giant plastic yard glasses filled with soda. He was really excited that Al was there. His first CD he ever bought was EW. He told me to come back for free refills too. Our seats were good, and the show was good. I didn't take any pictures, just decided to sit back and watch the show. Before the polka Al asked us by show of hands if we were in attendance tonight. There was a Kylo Ren and C3PO and R2D2 for TSB. C3PO was awesome, he stayed in character the whole time, even down to his walk, and his shocked mannerism when Al sang about him in TSB. There was another missed lyric during "Yoda". I'm blanking on what lyric it was, but Al basically sang gibberish.
After the show, we ran into old friends Dave and Teri. Chatted for a bit, and they hinted they might be going to NYC, so we will likely see them again. They lined the czar people up in the hallway, so we stuck around to watch. The 501st came out and was entertaining everyone. We took a few pictures and I got to tell C3PO how entertaining he with his body mannerisms up on stage, and he thanked me in character and with C3PO's voice and everything. It was awesome.
They finally herded the czar people into a room so we went out to the buses. A security guard told us Al wasn't coming out, but we were waiting for Bob anyway so we hung around. There was maybe 8-10 people who decided to wait. One of them was another old friend Austin, who I didn't know was there. He bought tickets about 2 hours before showtime he said. I caught up with Austin while we waited. Derek and Bob came out of the czar to hang by the buses with us. A few minutes later, another security guard came out and told us Al went back to his room. Oh well, that's the chance you take at the buses.
I drove Austin home as he only lives like 5 minutes from the venue. Then I went back to pick up Jackie, then we went home. Really fun night!
