:yay:

Those are some excellent photos! You two look amazing! :D

Definitely can't wait to hear more about the whole experience!

If I ever do meet Al again, maybe I'll see if we could take a funny picture or pose a certain way.

Here are my pictures, all from the pre-show party and post show, as they didn't allow cameras in the the theater. They somehow missed my camera during the bag search as they were more preoccupied by my bag's size and costume accessories, so I felt lucky that I got it in into the venue the first place, I didn't want to bring attention to it during the concert. The pre-show party was a blast! Perhaps the most fun I've had at a pre-show. Pinocchio won the foil hat contest. We all called a little kid stupid for turning down his weight in lobsters. And a group of us broke out into an impromptu striking rendition of "Albuquerque". There were lots of great costumes -- Milo Murphy, Fatman, Harvey, snotty barista, doughnut clerk, Fat Al, White & Nerdy guy, a carousel with horses, and 2 Like A Surgeons among others! I was sure I was going to lose the costume contest to Fat Al, but I pulled out my sixth win in the end! The show was great, really good crowd. One thing of note which I haven't seen too often is that Al harassed a male security guard quite a bit during WBUL. There were a lot of people with Czar passes. We were near the end of the line and it took us a good 30-45 minutes to get to Al. There was a long line waiting for him outside near the buses -- very dedicated fans! My impression from conversation I picked up backstage was that Al was planning to do a bus signing too, but we didn't stick around to find out if that happened or not. Fun night!

WELLLLLL OKAY
This is gonna be a long one. The longest one I've ever done to date. But it's a good one. ENJOY IT

So I'm still kind of not over last night but I might have to go back and edit this over the course of the week as I remember things. Please forgive in advance.

So it's like 8am and I'm sitting in Film Study right now as I begin to write this (it's taken me most of the day to get around to finishing this. IM SORRY). On the 4 hours of sleep that I have had, I woke up at 5:30 this morning and seriously thought the concert that happened last night did not happen. I thought it was a dream. My iPhone proved otherwise.

I left my dwelling around 11 AM, got to Providence around 12 noon, and waited for my crew until about 1pm. The four of us walked down to Blake's Tavern about 5 blocks away where I ordered a quesadilla. On our way back we ran into Kimo going for his walk as we crossed back over Weybosset, and ducked into Saki's pizza where Michael bought a drink so we could have access to the bathroom. We sat at a table and started singing Karma Chameleon by Culture Club and then dipped haha

Before lunch we made several laps around Downtown before the show, including 5 or 6 around the theater itself and 2 or 3 trips back to the car that was holding our belongings. We stepped inside the theater a few times because it was SO COLD and it felt so good but it was so hot out. That was the sucky part. We had ducked in to avoid the heat and when we were hanging around in the foyer we could hear Al doing sound check. He had been doing Word Crimes which was pretty awesome to hear- I had never heard sound check before!

Around 4:45 ish I stepped outside of the air conditioned PPAC and happened to spot Dave, Jackie and gang crossing over from the other side of the street. The 8 of us talked for a while before I went back across to grab my things before the party, where I ran into Kara in the parking garage! Then when we came back we saw Johnny in his awesome Milo Murphy cosplay! I loved it, thought he did a spot on job. Before we headed inside I picked up some stuff from Dave that he had for me. Jokes ensued that said transaction looked like a drug deal.

So the 6 of us (Dave, Jackie, Skye, Steve, Johnny and myself) checked in. For the first time in my life I got patted down and had my bag searched by security before I could get in. I got my bag and my beret (which I'm wearing as I type this). I got a BHD flat promo in it (which is the third or forth BHD promo or related item I've gotten in the last few months). You know where I went next; THE MERCH STAND !! I bought a Word Crimes shirt, a Tacky shirt, the action figure, a new set of pins to replace ones that had been lost, CPFOA sticker postcard, and a UHF blu-ray ( I have my own blu-ray player thanks to my Xbox One so I'm gonna throw that baby in later tonight). The kid running the stand sounded really excited about how Al had found all of passes and stuff.

Dave, Skye, Steve, Johnny and I crowded into the elevator sans Jackie and then we found her because we were all like "omg where did you go??" and she was like "I told you the BATHROOM"

The travelling museum was awesome. Seeing that handwritten UHF script was like finding the holy grail. Everything from the Eat It and Fat jacket and those Velvet pants were so great to see. I was just thinking about it and I was going to say something about The Sisterhood of The Travelling (Velvet) Pants or whatever. Maybe the Brotherhood instead?? I don't know. One of the TVs started to bug out, and I pointed it out to Jackie and then we told JW but then it worked again. Bought a $3 soda and I was kind of mad because it was 3 bucks but I was thirsty so I caved. Decided to duck out of the costume contest this year and just kind of hang out and watch. Jackie said I should've given Dave a run for his money but I enjoyed watching everyone have as much fun as I did last year. During the trivia part of the costume contest I said "this is the worst movie ever" during a point where it was pretty quiet and JW couldn't do it so he had to stop as everyone laughed and he said "She made me laugh... broke my concentration"

A very impromptu rendition of Albuquerque broke out between all of us and it was GLORIOUS. There was also a kid with a empty paper towel tube who did the guitar solo at the end and he got a standing ovation. Johnny, Dave, and a Fat lady (which I just recently learned her name is Rosemary!) were the finalists of the costume contest. I honestly thought the Fat lady was going to win but Dave beat her by a slim margin. It was honestly really close. When everyone was clearing out to go downstairs JW went absolutely nuts and started throwing the bowls of chips everywhere and slapped beer cups and any cups really off of the top of the table. He actually threw a table over and it was so funny.

The last time I had looked, it looked like there was still a good amount of seats left but I think Providence was either damn near or it was sold out. made it down to my seat WAAAY down in the orchestra pit. It was INSANE. I was sandwiched between 3 guys and then Johnny was on the end of the row on my left side. Michelle was on the isle in the row behind me to my right, and Kara was in the same row but on the right side of the pit. Jackie and Dave were right behind me I think by three or four rows after the wall. Apparently some people couldn't get their cameras inside. I think Jackie said hers got bounced but I know Michelle had hers because she took a picture of me with it haha

Tacky- Al started behind the PPAC near one of the loading doors that had been open early on; I saw some wardrobe boxes for the band and I think one of Al's. I saw them setting the cables up for the live stream earlier in the day. Towards the end the mic went soft but came right back when Al got on stage. You can see it here.

LCTF- Took a small 10 second or so video and then the security guard bitched at me. He was kind of rude or whatever so I said okay and stopped. Wait until I talk about WBUL though haha

Most of the songs were amazing. Half the time I couldn't tell if I was singing too loud or if everyone else was singing with me. Probably the second option.

Okay so WBUL- I think I got back to back WBUL lines but I remember the second one was "You're so hot you're gonna melt the elastic in my underwear" but I'm still having trouble remembering the first one. (UPDATE: It was "Girl, you smell like Fritos, that's why I'm giving you this hungry stare". Good job alexis you remembered. Only took about 3 weeks. stupid)

So you know how Dave said Al harassed the male security guard?? Ya girl had a front row view along with the live stream on the LCD behind. Al had come back to the stage and the he had a security escort with him (one of them being security dude) and Al straight up just jumps on this guy. Al jumps off, but once the security guy almost manages to get away, he jumps on him a second time. I told him afterwards that Al got him and he said it was brutal. Hey man, I'm not saying that some of the ladies in the audience wouldn't have wanted what you got, but I would probably be lying to you. Al was singing to the woman two seats to my left and I pulled a Hampton Beach 2.0 and took a selfie. Apparently I was on the LCD. Lit haha

At the end of Amish Paradise all (approx.) 3,000 or so of us stood for an ovation. Jacinta was the first one I saw out of the corner of my eye as I stood up who was standing too. Everyone sat down after Al had come back out on stage. Must've been five solid minutes of straight clapping. rip my arms

Show was solid, no A/V hiccups at all except for the small thing during Tacky. BUT OKAY during TSB you know how last summer I screamed during "we all wound up on Tatooine" in NBMA and Al stopped?? You know I did it again. Then a few thousand of my close personal friends followed suit. After the show (I forget who) asked me if the scream was me and all I did was smile. They thought it was me but they weren't sure haha

Yoda was awesome- Al got down on his knees and played a mini solo for me. The guy at the end of the isle to the right of me got to do Yoda and afterwards he told me how he was hurt in his heart because as a performer the mic wasn't set for his voice. Sorry 2 burst your bubble my guy but I'm pretty sure you're not Weird Al

Jacinta and I were in the green room backstage, where her son Michael and I messed around with the piano, and met the guy who did that wicked Germs remix last year, and there was a woman with a Wilson Volleyball and I could not help but go "WILSOOOOOON" and the woman laughed. Introduced myself and talked to Kimo, Steve and I talked to Bermuda for a while, and he asked me if I was from town and I said I had come in from the Cape. We talked for a while about my passes, especially about the promoter one I have from TWS. They don't run through Otto anymore, they go through a company called Cube and Bermuda is the one who handles everything with the passes. He told me he was the one who did the photo shop on the Poodle Hat pass and put Bela in Al's hands; and the SOL one. I asked him if he knew why some didn't have the Otto backs, and he said that they might've pressed them as they needed them on the road and how they don't really do laminates anymore. He was very impressed with the collection I had! I brought my advert for the 1999 special and had Bermuda, Kimo and Al sign it. Bermuda thought it was really cool. I ended up asking Al about the promoter pass I had and he had no idea how many were made or survived. I said more than six, JW said at least maybe twenty. Bermuda said to ask Dave and I was like "I actually already asked him and he has no idea!" He asked if you and Jackie were coming back with us but I told him you had gone into the Czar line with everyone else. He also said you were a cool dude, Dave. Maybe slap that on your resume sometime.

Grabbed some selfies with Al and TBITB and my ride had pulled up not 30 seconds after we had sat down out front of the PPAC once more. Before we got away I told Jacinta to stop jaywalking and then she ran over and hit the back of my mom's car with her hand two or three times and then we took off

Nerds totally find love!! AWESOME review, Alexis! And yay on the prom date!!

And OMG Albuquerque. So fun and awesome. That should happen every VIP party.

Dave *might* have that on his resume...

And yeah, my camera got bounced. However, the Swiss Army knife (that I usually remove from my bag before the show but forgot) got missed. So, no pictures, but hey, I was armed, lol.

The feels... seriously. Just...

I honestly have a lot that I could say about what you shared, Alexis, but I'm going to spare everyone that. You write beautifully and captured the entire experience perfectly. I truly felt like I was there and I felt all the emotion from everything you described. I won't lie, I was brought to tears (stupid, soft heart!) and had a smile on my face at several points reading this. This is what I love so much about WOWAY and what life should be about: having fun, touching each others' lives, creating great relationships with fellow fans, and enjoying all that Al has brought into our lives... not just all the laughs, smiles, entertainment, and inspiration... but he brought so many wonderful people together both on and offline. It reminds me of the beauty and wonder you can find in the world, even when it seems cruel and bleak quite often. It's been such a joy to read all these wonderful stories and see these incredible photos (whatever I can see without Facebook, at least) over the years, and I look forward to reading and seeing more about everyone's experiences in the future. So, keep sharing them, and more importantly, keep being your awesome selves!

Anyway, that's enough. Alexis, you're a rockstar, and thank you for sharing this and for being an awesome person! :D
