The Mann is an awesome venue! Al has only ever performed there once, but it's perfect for his brand of performance.

Missing this one this time around even though it's not too far, so I probably won't be seeing you this time around, Dana.
Have fun!

We'll miss you and Anne, Adrian! When will Lucy be attending her first Al concert?

I have no idea what an appropriate age to bring her to her first one is! I guess we'll know when the time is right. In the meantime, I think we're doing a pretty decent job brainwashing her cultivating an appreciation for Al in her.

Eva was five and a half. She loved it. And your video of Lucy saying Yoda was super precious

Props to you and Anne for starting her young! I also technically have my dad to thank for my obsession with Al, even though I saw "There's No Going Home" on the Disney Channel before he mentioned any of Al's parodies, but whenever an original (ie: My Sharona) would come on the radio, he'd mention what Al's parody was. I was visiting my parents for Father's Day and hung out at the house for a bit so when my dad showed me his new Amazon Echo, I was eager to see which of Al's songs would come on when I instructed it to play Al-- the first song to play was "Ricky," and my mom couldn't stop laughing! "Fat" and "Eat It" also came on. When my mom said "Isn't it PC to make fat jokes?" I had to remind her that "Fat" was released in 1988.Jigawatt wrote:I have no idea what an appropriate age to bring her to her first one is! I guess we'll know when the time is right. Re: 7/31/15 The Mann Center, Philadelphia PA
4 MORE WEEKS!! Got clearance to leave work slightly earlier so I can get to the Mann with enough time to meet up with all y'all beforehand! Hopefully WeirdMary0427 can meet me at work and we can either take the 44 bus or a Lyft to the show, or since a client from work and his wife are going (and are sitting elsewhere in the theater), I'm going to try to figure out how they're getting to the show to see if we can caravan. Can't wait!!

How is this place?
I've never been. Al's show will be my first time there.
