Your "Dream Setlist" for the Mandatory Fun Tour

Post by mybologna »

I know there's already a 'tour speculation' thread, but I'm curious to see what kind of full set list you're all wanting to see on this tour! I'd love reading everyone's different ideas.

Personally, I'd love something like this:

Tacky (a camera man films him walking/dancing thru the halls and lobby of the theatre and he enters thru the audience)
NOW That's What I Call Polka!
Everything You Know Is Wrong (alt: Stuck In A Closet With Vanna White)
First World Problems

costume change
Perform This Way
costume change
Dog Eat Dog
costume change
Handy
costume change
CNR
Foil
costume change
Wanna B UR Lovr
costume change

Medley: Like A Surgeon, Jurassic Park, Party In the CIA, Ebay, I Can't Watch This, TMZ, Alimony, Stop Draggin' My Car Around, Another One Rides the Bus, Inactive, Living With A Hernia, Eat It

costume change
Word Crimes
costume change
Smells Like Nirvana
costume change
Amish Paradise
costume change
White & Nerdy
costume change
Fat

Encore:
The Saga Begins
Yoda

Something like that. As long as its not like the SOL tour which was nothing more than RWS, Poodle Hat and SOL, I'll be happy. The Bad Hair Tour, The Poodle Hat Tour & The Internet Leaks Tour are probably his three best set lists to date as far as keeping a good balance of old & new, and I'd love that continued.

My dream setlist:

Opening:

Weird Al Songs

Encore:

Albuquerque

I completely disagree with Bermuda. Albuquerque felt perfectly natural as the encore each night on the SOL tour, and Saga/Yoda worked fine in the middle. Every show that ends without Albuquerque feels off to me now.

(also in the post Breaking Bad universe we live in Al could add "Got any Blue Meth Donuts?")

Actually I'd love if, for this tour, Al could bring back more out of costume moments, like he did on the Bad Hair Tour. He did the opening 4 songs, 1 costume song, then did another 5 songs out of costume and the medley. It allows time for more songs, and just more time with Al interacting with the audience as himself and less videos. Sadly I think his concerts have gone too far off from that kind of set up to ever come back to it.

I also loved his song selection for the BHD tour, however it would seem the reason we got some cool, older originals there is because he only did ONE original from BHD, and a short one at that, so it cleared up more time!

Great setlist! I can see the ads for the tour now:

"Come see the Mandatory Fun Tour, featuring one song from Mandatory Fun!"

I wouldn't bet on anything in the encore other than TSB and Yoda. I don't think anyone in the band felt that the positioning in the set was right during the SOL tour, so I doubt that they would change it up again.

I went to this concert in my underwear, and Freddy Krueger came out and killed Ruben.....

My most realistic dream setlist would probably be somewhere along the lines of:
Tacky - Get the crowd excited, & like said before, film Al walking into the audience & to the stage
NOW That's What I Call Polka!
Midnight Star (Alt: Addicted To Spuds with Potato Head costumes)
Generic Blues (Alt: Smells Like Nirvana)
Foil/Party In The CIA
First World Problems
Skipper Dan
Handy/The Plumbing Song/Hardware Store ("When you're toilets overflow... Blame it on the drain (chorus)... Hardware Store)
Lame Claim To Fame
Wanna B UR LOVR
Medley: Gump/Jurassic Park/Living With A Hernia/Inactive/Livin' In The Fridge/I Think I'm A Clone Now (band puts on Al wigs)/Headline News(Updated lyrics)/Syndicated Inc. (Updated lyrics)/ Theme From Rocky XIII (Keep in the high kicks)/My Bologna/Stop Draggin' My Car Around/Lasagna/Eat It
Perform This Way
Amish Paradise
Word Crimes
White & Nerdy
Fat

Encore:
The Saga Begins
Yoda
Yoda Chant leading into final verse of Albuquerque

Songs that almost made the cut: I'm So Sick Of You, Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies, Craigslist, Traffic Jam, My Own Eyes
Concerts Attended: 1
September 19th, 2011 - Pikes Peak Center, Colorado Springs, CO

Some people say I'm the one who got Al to be in an Epic Rap Battles of History.
