Maybe we can break Fan Art down into
1. Best Pencil work
2. Best ink work
3. Best color work
because I see some really great stuff done by people who only work in pencil. I hardly ever work in pencil beyond setting up the basic lines because I just make a huge mess, and I'm impressed by those who have the patience to do work in the medium.
