A thread for general discussion of the liner notes.
Some thoughts on the Special Thanks:
Miles Jay - Does he play on the album somewhere? I seem to remember him being thanked before, too.
Jonathan Coulton - why??
Ben Sheehan, Bradly Schulz, Andrew Bush, Sean Dacanay - These are all Funny Or Die guys. Andy directed Sports Song and Brad edited. Ben and Sean are producers, I believe.
BJ Novak - why???? I am very curious about this!

Just a guess, but since Jarrett Heather animated Coulton's "Shop Vac," perhaps JC suggested Heather to Al for "Word Crimes?"TMBJon wrote: Jonathan Coulton - why??

Re: MF Liner Notes
There are at least two big names missing.
Although Ruben is clearly represented in the booklet, he's not credited as performing on any of the songs, or is his name printed anywhere in the booklet. Keyboards were handed by Jim, Steve, or Al.
No mention anywhere of Tony Papa, Al's long-time audio engineer.

I don't know, but Ian Jay is also thanked later in the notes.TMBJon wrote:Miles Jay - Does he play on the album somewhere? I seem to remember him being thanked before, too.

Ruben doesn't usually do keyboards does he. I always thought he was just the touring keyboardist.

On Alpocaypse, Rubén only played on Ringtone.Kevbo1987 wrote:He definitely usually performs on some of the album tracks.
I believe Bermuda once mentioned that it's much cheaper to have Jim, Steve, or Al do the keyboard parts in studio so that they don't have to pay another musician's day rate when any of those three could play it just as easily.

Re: MF Liner Notes
Also curious as to why Jonathan Coulton was thanked.
Also, I'm a little bummed that Al suddenly dropped the "dictator" theme with the pictures in the booklet close to the end. Not complaining, the shot of him is funny, and the band picture is awesome, but I still would have liked to have more dictator-esque photos in their places.
