When will we hear it?

With only ten days left until Mandatory Fun's release, I'm just wondering when people think we'll hear the full thing for the first time.

Personally, I think it will be this Tuesday, July 8. It's pretty common for artists to put their full albums up to stream a week prior to release, and Al did that for Alpocalypse.

If we hear anything early it will probably be through a leak. I think Al would have advertised it if he were planning on putting it up for streaming. And it would also discourage people from actually buying it. Not us, but the general public.

There was no announcement about the Alpocalypse stream before it happened. In fact, I seem to remember the mods kept going back and forth over what to do with it before it was finally confirmed that it was legit and legal

Really? I must have missed that. Where was it streamed? iTunes? How early did was it streamed?

Also, that might be a different situation, considering half the album had already been released. And Al seems to be keeping things especially quiet this time.

It showed up on Exclaim.ca first. Then I think it might have showed up on another site as well.

Pretty sure this is the first post that brought it up

Since it was a Canadian site, that's what led to a lot of confusion about it being Al behind the whole deal.

Al announced on Twiiter a few hours later he had a couple sites lined up to stream it, but Exclaim accidentally put theirs up a few hours early.

So, exactly a week early. Hmm. Part of hopes for an early stream. If he streams it early, we'll still have a bunch of music videos to look forward to the week of the official release. But part of me wants nothing until the 15th.
