It's the "l" that does it. People tend to pronounce the "oi" in "android" as one syllable but the "oi" in "foil" as two. It affects other diphthongs too. "Loud" is one syllable, but "foul" is often two. Same goes for "paid" and "sail."

This reminds of me of my college linguistics course and the difference between "prescriptivists" and "descriptivists." I'm the latter.

But regardless, Bermuda said the song subjects would be obvious. "The Brady Bunch" for "The Safety Dance" wouldn't have been obvious. But...oh, come on! It's "Royals."
