So, I haven't used iTunes to buy music for a long time. Can someone explain to me the point of pre-ordering? I mean, I get it for a physical copy that could conceivably sell out or just to have it arrive on the release date like through Amazon. But why would I need/want to pre-order a digital copy? I guess if it just automatically downloads on July 15th, that would be neat, but still only a minor convenience. I noticed that the couple of albums they're currently advertising for pre-order include getting one track right now, so is that it? Do we think that's going to happen with MF? Is there a limit on questions in a single post?

Yeah, for the consumer it's pretty pointless to preorder a digital copy. But I think from the POV of the artists/iTunes it's more as a means of publicity and getting the fans hyped.

Of course, I'll still be preordering the album! I already preordered my hard copy from Amazon, but I need the digital copy so I have it as soon as possible!

Been waiting for it to be released on iTunes. I have a gift card left over from Xmas that I will definitely be using it for this. Excited!!!

This is what I get for not reading more carefully. I saw the post words "iTunes" and "track listing announced" and immediately went looking on iTunes and found nothing! Then I frantically searched online for the announcement and still found nothing!

So, now we have an announcement about an announcement.
