It's not anti-sports either. It just mocks the way sports fans have overinflated confidence in their teams, even if they're not that great.Well, Well, Well wrote:it does not seem to be a pro-sports song in any way.

Well that sucks. Maybe Chris Martin will take things into his own hands...

If Al didn't perform "Sports Song" at the SuperBowl, it would pretty much defeat the entire purpose of his writing that songWell, Well, Well wrote:I feel like if Al were to play this halftime show, he would definitely not play "Sports Song," one of the weakest songs on the new album. especially since it does not seem to be a pro-sports song in any way.

Re: Weird Al Super Bowl Halftime Show
It's interesting that Al said there was zero chance of that happening. So maybe this whole petition thing was in response to that remark, which makes me feel dumb for having hope. I think if Al were to actually make an appearance he'd have to reconsider that imaginary Setlist a bit. And while Sports Song may have been written ironically with all that in mind, the song didn't turn out as epic as it might have been in theory.

Re: Weird Al Super Bowl Halftime Show
So the top three choices are being asked to PAY THE NFL in order to perform. This is all kinds of stupid. There's even backlash coming from the general public. Could this maybe give Al's petition a much-needed boost?
