World of Weird Al Yankovic

SO excited! I got VIP tickets for Medford MA, and for once, Northeast dates happen first on this tour, so my concert is in May.

I can't seem to find this info anywhere: Does anyone know when VIP events start before the concert? I had VIP tickets to Al before, and I remember being annoyed with myself when we got there, because we didn't leave early enough and missed some of the pre-concert activities.

In all seriousness, I would like the answer to the this as well. Along with details of what I have to bring besides the painfully obvious proof of vaccine.

From what I remember from the last VIP events, 5 PM seems to be the standard.

I wiil be attending BOTH Denver shows on June 3rd and June 4th. I might also attend the Greely show on Sep 9th but I haven't made up my mind on that one yet.

I will also be live tweeting the set lists for each show I attend as we know they're all going to be woldly different from each other again (follow me @killingsworth27 on twitter). I've also started a Weird Al Discord server of my own if anyone wants to join (https://discord.gg/5tjQJF8y).

I do remember four years ago when everybody who went to the 2018 shows posted their set lists on here. We're gonna be doing that again, right?

I really hope everybody comes back when the tour starts, but I have little faith seeing how dead this forum has been the last couple years. I'll certainly be reporting on the shows I attend! ONE WEEK TO GO!!!

Is there any word if they'll be recording and releasing the shows like they did with Sticher in 2018?

Not that I'm aware of.

I'm also hoping to see setlists here this time - and hopefully extra insights like 'drum solos', 'vibraslaps solos', etc.

Some of you might remember the song tracker spreadsheet from the first Vanity Tour (https://www.weirdalforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=12735). I have started a new sheet for this tour, and I'll probably post it in a separate thread here tomorrow - so keep an eye out for that if you're interested. This forum was a big help for filling out the sheet in 2018.

For what it's worth, I absolutely loved that all the shows from the 2018 tour were recorded and released - it got me to subscribe to Stitcher and I still listen to some of the shows during long car rides!

Do we think the set lists are gonna have any new inclusions compared to 2018? I'd expect the straight covers during the encore will continue to be unique. But I wonder if there will be any previously unplayed originals mixed into the rotation? Maybe a new song?

Either way, I'm stoked. I've got tickets for the shows in Medford on May 6th and 7th, which is pretty soon, so I'll try to avoid spoilers until then.

Has anyone here done VIP yet? If so, is it drastically different than years before due to covid? So glad Al is back on tour!!! Hopefully I get to meet some of you at some shows!

Went to the New Bedford show last night, going to Hampton Beach tomorrow and VIP for Medford next weekend. Since I am (kind of) an adult and now have access to adult money, I decided that this was the year to get into low-key tour chasing.

I've got VIP for BOTH Los Angeles shows, GA @ Indian Ranch on 8/05, VIP for San Antonio on 10/04, GA @ Kennedy Center on 10/19 and VIP for Carnegie Hall 10/29. The San Antonio show is also on my birthday so everyone say happy birthday to me there if you see me (or there will be consequences)

Brings me to 9 shows on the year, for a lifetime total of 13 shows!
