I just ordered two tickets. One is for me. Greg isn't able to travel like that yet, so I'll have to find another taker for the second.

I attended this last night, and it was really fun!

Exactly as described, the event was hosted by Harry Shearer and featured Al among others such as Micky Dolenz, Bob Kurtz, Hunter Freberg, and some of Stan's other colleagues. Each person hosted a segment of the tribute. They focused on his animation voiceover work, tv appearances, radio shows, and commercials. A segment dedicated to his musical comedy work was hosted by Al. He gave a sincere, thoughtful tribute to Stan's ouvre and introduced several songs specifically including John and Marsha and Green Chri$tma$.

At the end, Freberg and his wife, Hunter, took the stage. Stan is 88 years old (!) and frankly didn't seem to be in the best health. His wife, Hunter, was really excellent at telling a lot of Stan's best behind the scenes stories, but allowing Stan to deliver the punchlines. It was really cool to attend this tribute and see Freberg in person. What a legend - 70 years in comedy!!!!

I am glad you had a good time, Jon. Sounds like it was a fun event. Sorry to hear Stan is in poor health, but I'm glad his wife was at his side to talk about the behind the scenes stuff.

Yeah, there was a weird air regarding that, but she never claimed to be telling stories first hand. She was just helping to reiterate stories that Stan had told her, and let Stan himself deliver the punchlines or funniest parts in every story.
If you saw the physical/mental condition Stan was in during this event (wheelchair-bound, as he apparently fell down and broke a rib last week), it was clear that this was the only way he could have possibly participated.
